Gay Weddings in Argentina making news again | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Great beginning of the week. The Gay Wedding I am planning in Buenos Aires, Argentina for an Australian couple and 50 of their closest friends and family flying for all corners of the world, is already making news on the local newspapers, before it has even started. Pagina 12, a well know newspaper of Argentina, has interviewed the couple. Victor Hoeld and Alex Greenwich, have both chosen Argentina to tie the knot legally, and Carlos Melia as the official Travel Agent and Wedding Planner for this special event. Estancia Villa Maria, has been the chosen venue for the wedding ceremony, dinner and party. Read more HERE. So the question raises, can Non-Argentineans now get married in Buenos Aires? Well apparently there are winds of change. Que vivan los novios. !!! CM
Gay Weddings flash UPDATE | Buenos Aires, Argentina | No no no…. don’t worry, I am not getting married… ha ha ha…. yet. !!!!! As many of you know, I am in Buenos Aires right now, ultimating all details of a big high profile Gay Wedding, which will take place during the month of May, here outside of Buenos Aires, for a gay couple from overseas, together with their friends and families flying from all corners of the world to be present the day the say I DO. I was appointed both, their travel agent, work I have done for the last 20 years with great pleasure, but most important and for the first time ever, wedding planner. I must say that this has been an opening eye experience. A whole new world has opened before my eyes. Argentina legalized same-sex marriage on July 22nd 2010, becoming the first country in Latin America and the second in the Americas to allow same-sex marriage nationwide. One of the most interesting facts, reason why I am doing this post, has been to receive this morning a very kind email by the reverend of ICM – Iglesia Comunidad Metropolitana, a church in Buenos Aires reaching out to all minorities. I contacted them a week ago on my search for a celebrant for the ceremony, to which they replied welcoming and blessing this gay wedding, and offering their services for free. It amazes me how things have changed over the years. I will be reporting more on this event during the next few days. I have now gathered a very interesting database of suppliers, organizations and services to plan your Gay Wedding here in Argentina, so feel free to contact me if you are ready to say I DO. For now… this is as much I can say and share with you all. Have a great weekend everyone. CM
