Rock of Ages Las Vegas

Rock of Ages Las Vegas by www.carlosmeliablog.comRock of Ages Las Vegas  |  Las Vegas, United States  |  Following my four reports on the shows I saw during my last visit to Las Vegas, Rock of Ages ranked second as my favorite production along the Vegas Strip. Fun, engaging, well performed, and entertaining, although being the longest show I’ve seen ever in Las Vegas. Rock of Ages plays at The Venetion Resort & Casino. For those of you not familiar with the story,  Rock of Ages tells the story of Drew, a boy from South Detroit and Sherrie, a small-town girl, both in L.A. to chase their dreams of making it big and falling in love. Rock of Ages takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! See my reviews on the other shows: Michael Jackson ONE, ZARKANA and ANSINTHE. Just a little warning and constructive criticism to all Las Vegas Strip shows, in particular to Cirque du Soleil. Sometimes having seven OK shows at the same time, does not equal to having one that is GREAT. And to the rest in general, well I felt most shows lacked of energy, and they all felt over-rehearsed, where you could tell the cast had to perform twice a day, at least 6 days a week. You know like when you go horseback ridding, and the horse walks knowing by hard the way to go, and you are just there pretending…. well that is how I felt. But hey shaded me right. ABSINTHE Las Vegas

ABSINTHE Las Vegas by www.carlosmeliablog.com ABSINTHE  |  Las Vegas, United States  |  I must say after having seen four shows along the strip during my stay in Las Vegas, last week, I must say this was the one with the least production, and the one with the most excitement and entertaining of them all. Naughty, fun, exotic, erotic, wild and wacky are just a few words to describe this acro-Burlesque cabaret show, recommended only for adults over 18+.  Sassy and debauching comedy, sexy cast and wild acts happening merely feet away from the audience. I will let the videos say the rest. TIP is you are black, asian or white, gay or straight…. regardless what you are, be ready to be the center of the jokes, and they are ruthless with a very sharp but funny sense of humor. ABSINTHE plays in front of Caesars Palace in the Roman Plaza. For more information visit their website – www.absinthevegas.com. Enjoy the show. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour by Maverick

Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour by Maverick | Las Vegas, Nevada | Do you want to WOW yourself and have an unique experience of Las Vegas ? Like a friend of mine told me last night “…OH you were in Vegas, that doesn’t count as a trip…”. Well guess WHAT, the Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour by Maverick Helicopters made it worth it indeed.

An over 3 hours tour of the Grand Canyon with the added value of Hoover Dam, Lake MeadMojave Desert, the Valley of Las Vegas and the sunset overview of The Strip (aka. Las Vegas Boulevard). My TIP, instead of taking only the sunset Helicopter Tour of The Strip, which I did the day before (see here), I suggest taking the Grand Canyon Tour which at the end includes also the Night Tour of The Strip. From USD 409 x person on.

Descend and land 3,500 feet into the Grand Canyon in Hualapai Indian Territory. Champagne, beverages and light snack on an exclusive panoramic bluff some 300 feet above the mighty Colorado River in one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.

Fly back and conclude your adventure with an exciting flight over Downtown Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Strip. Duration: approximately 4 hours (hotel to hotel). Departure Point: Las Vegas terminal (includes complimentary transportation to and from hotels within five miles of the Strip). Items To Bring: Camera, sunscreen, photo ID (for anyone 18 yrs or older) and if you should forget anything visit our gift shop.

Las Vegas Helicopter Tour

Las Vegas Helicopter Tour |  Las Vegas, Nevada |  What a better way to see Las Vegas and the world famous renown Las Vegas Strip that from the air. Well that is exactly what I did this afternoon, courtesy of Maverick Helicopter Tours. A fantastic 12 minutes helicopter ride over the most iconic hotels and attractions of the Sin City.

A very brief safety introduction by one of their most handsome pilots, after having checked in and welcomed with a glass of champagne. Maverick is located only a few minutes away from The Strip and the main hotels. Not only they offer this Las Vegas and The Strip tours, but also half or full day tours to Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon.

Trust me, I have done helicopter tours and rides at the most impressive places in this world, but the Glitz and Glamour of the night neon flashing lights of Las Vegas, cannot be compared or matched. So I would suggest taking this tour, and if possible once the sun is down and the moon high up. This tour is very accessible, running from USD 114 on per person.
