Thong Kham and Carlos Melia reunited again | Golden Triangle, Thailand | This is now a true love story. After 4 month of being apart Thong Kham and Carlos Melia reunited once again at the Four Seasons Tented Camp at Golden Triangle in the border between Thailand, Myanmar and Lao. One look at the other, she put her trunk over my head and sniffed me around, after that we looked each other in the eye and we instantly bonded again. Memory of elephant right. This was my morning in love with Thong Kham.
GPS Carlos Melia busy working all over Thailand | Thailand | Hi there everyone. I know I know, I have been a bit lazy lately not working much on my blog, but the truth is that while hosting the first ever US and Canada LGBT Press and Travel Professionals groups to Thailand, I have not had much time left. Right now waking up at the amazing Four Seasons Tented Camp in the region of Chiang Rai. Still three more days ahead before everyone heads back home with amazing tales and stories of this amazing country, so since I will be fully devoted to this, I invite you all to SUBSCRIBE to my Facebook Profile, JOIN and LIKE my Facebook Page or FOLLOW me on Twitter, where you will be able to see hour by hour all the photos and videos of this incredible journey along and across Thailand. What is coming today ? well full morning training with the Elephants, and my girl Thong Kham to become a Mahout. Anyhow below a few photos and videos from the last few days, just a sneak peak.
Four Season Tented Camp Thailand | Golden Triangle, Thailand | If there was a hotel I visited in 2011, that went above and beyond any expectations, was the Four Seasons Tented Camp at Golden Triangle in the northern region of Thailand, right on the border with Lao and Burma. How about combining the best of Four Seasons signature luxury, style and customer service, with the exuberant beauty of the bamboo jungles of Chiang Rai province in the outdoors, surrounded by a local Elephants camp, Burmese chanting monks in the mornings and serene waters of the Mekong River. How would I define and summarize this experience, simply like this… train to become a Mahout, live with the elephants in full luxury, enjoy all-inclusive adventures, spoil yourself at their full service outdoor spa and dine like a king or queen.
Sail the Mae Khong River to the Golden Triangle | Golden Triangle, Thailand | One of the tours you should consider when in the areas of Golden Triangle, Chiang Saen or Chiang Rai, is the sailing along the Ruak River to the intersection with the Mae Khong River to find the central point denominated Golden Triangle. So board your long tail boat, sail across by bamboo fields, small fishing villages and decide where would you like to spend the rest of your day. The options are Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) or Laos.
Golden Triangle to Chiang Mai Full Day Tour | Thailand | So this morning I started very early on what it would turn to be a brilliant day exploring the areas of Golden Triangle, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. All was seamlessly planned by the Four Season Tented Camp Golden Triangle, for my transfer to my next destination Chiang Mai. Instead of doing a regular four hours transfer, they hosted me for a full day of highlights, attractions along the rice fields and towns of the northern region of Thailand.
Training to become a Mahout at Golden Triangle | Golden Triangle, Thailand | One of the unique experiences you cannot miss during your visit to Thailand. Some of the best areas, regardless your budget (since there are options for everyone) Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and surrounding areas are some of the best locations to train to become a real Mahout. My training, I did it at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, and I have to say it was one of the most fantastic experiences I have done in my life.
GPS Carlos Melia at Golden Triangle | Golden Triangle, Thailand | Good Morning everyone, from Golden Triangle and Fours Seasons Tented Camp. Above view of my tent, below view from my bed at my room. No words to describe it…. just enjoy it and share it with you all. Golden Triangle is a magical destination. I am right now on the Thailand side, surrounded by the Ruack River and the Maekhong River. The other side is Laos, where I will be spending a few hours today.
Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp | Golden Triangle, Thailand | I have just arrived to the Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp, and I have to say that I never stop being surprised. Golden Triangle is the point where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma) come together, surrounded by the Ruak River and Maekhong River. A secluded destination to enjoy hours interacting with elephants – training and trekking along with the expert guidance of the Mahouts – in this unforgettable experience. Just 15 tented accommodations – unique in luxury, complete with hand-hammered copper bathtubs – echo the romantic spirit of 19th-century explorers. All-inclusive Four Seasons adventures cover every detail, from drinks and dining to river boat excursions to meet local hill tribes. I will be posting more since I will be staying here for two nights.
