Yesterday, getting ready for the gala dinner I was assisting, at the 24th GLAAD Media Awards, I decided to pamper myself getting a nice facial at the fabulous GUERLAIN Spa, located within the stunning and iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel, although I must admit, spoiled me, ha ha ha, I always come by the more exclusive side, by the Waldorf Towers, on 50th Street.

White colonial style, home feeling hotel with a great central patio with a mirror pool and an open galleria where you can seat to relax, read a book or enjoy a nice lunch or cocktail. Rooms are small but very nice. Only comments would be that the bathroom is right on when you open the door of the room, and that is not my favorite layout for a room. Balconies overlooking the pool area. White colonial style house with only 19 rooms, a restaurant and a spa. Friendly and respectful staff. More soon. See the video below.

I was accommodated into a huge Villa with two levels and my own private plunge pool. Disappointment: so far… that I will not have time to enjoy my villa in full, during the two nights I am here. Although the hotel looks like an old palace, Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi only is seven years old. A team of architects and designers from Chiang Mai’s University have work hard to create this ambiance, together with the private collection of antics from all over Asia by the owner of the property. Yesterday I decided to go out of the comfort of my hotel and explore the local Spas in Chiang Mai. One name kept coming to me, referred by tourists and locals – OASIS Spa. So I set off to try it. I feel like my body cannot take any more massages for this week, I never though I would say this right, but indeed that is how I feel, so I went for alternative options.

They booked me for a 90 minutes traditional Lanna style massage, in the most amazing surroundings.
