My latest Restaurant Experiences in Buenos Aires | Buenos Aires, Argentina | After my week in Rio de Janeiro, I decided to take four days off and head to my native city of Buenos Aires, to visit my family, before heading back to, my new home, New York. One of my favorite activities, as you may know by now, is eating and checking out restaurants of all kinds, and that is what I did. I went to some of my classic ones like the Rodi Bar in Recoleta. I tried a new one in San Telmo and was invited by the Park Hyatt Hotel Buenos Aires, to enjoy their winter Fondue Nights at the Duhau Restaurant. See my comments and photos below. Myths, Legends & Cafes of Buenos Aires | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Once again in Buenos Aires, city where I was born and left, many years ago, searching for new challenges and adventures. My family still lives in this beautiful city, reason why I visit at least three times a year. Every visit to me is a new discovery, always looking to learn more about it and to find new interesting things to share with all my followers and passengers. This time, expert guide Victoria Lustig, came my way and willing to work with me, she offer to take me around, to see a different side of it. My first reaction was, well what can she show me that I have not seen yet. I was right, she didn’t show me much I haven’t seen before, BUT she made me understand things and see others I have never noticed for luck of attention or knowledge. Travel should always be and “Experience” and a “Life Changing Moment”, and this tour gave me that. Continue reading Myths, Legends & Cafes of Buenos Aires

Sailing along the Lujan River at El Tigre | Buenos Aires, Argentina | I spent my whole day today visiting the areas of San Telmo, San Isidro and El Tigre in the city of Buenos Aires. A day along the flowing history of the city of Buenos Aires, following the steps of the original Jesuits, overthrown by the Spanish colonies and further local aristocracy. A tale from the 19th century in a few words. More posts can be found at El Tigre. Worth visiting and speeding the day out of the hustle and bustle of the city of Buenos Aires sailing across the Rio de la Plata. Welcome to what I call WaterWorld, on of the last on growing deltas in the world, and the thirds largest river in the world, only 40 minutes away from the city of Buenos Aires. CM

So the other day when Chef Alejandro Digilio invited me to come and check his restaurant, which by the way everyone raves about, I asked him what type of food you guys specialize into…. and he replied Molecular Food in 16 Steps, and I said to my self Carlos you are in big trouble, I am a huge foodie and wine fan, therefore 16 Steps sounded like I was about to get a Molecular Food feast, without even knowing what it entitled. Aldo’s Vinoteca Restoran Buenos Aires | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Let me start this post with a basic and straight THIS IS A KEEPER. If I would be leaving back in Buenos Aires, I would come to Aldo’s at least once a week. The concept is very basic, but at the same time unique, the star of the night are the wines, the Argentinean wines, which by the expert guidance of your sommelier, will be matched to perfection with your food choices. Located at the least expected area of San Telmo, below the Moreno Boutique Hotel, without a doubt after seven month of opening has become the hot spot of taste, cool ambiance and wine culture of Buenos Aires.
