ZEN Restaurant at Pan Dei Palace

ZEN Restaurant at Pan Dei Palace  |  St Tropez, France  |   Located at the ground level of the Pan Dei Palais by Relais & Chateaux, is this lovely Restaurant, fusion of Thai / Indian with reminiscences of French Cuisine.  ZEN is their concept, and you can see in the photo above, very very simple but classy and very tasteful. And come on… once you use French Graine Moutarde, what can go wrong right. !!!! It brings up all the right flavors.
Precision, skill, sophistication… the dishes created by Sato, chef at the Pan Deï Palais, reflect a Japanese garden, the mark of serenity belonging to the country of the rising sun. In one word, “Zen”. Bon Appetit !!! CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Plage des Salins in Saint Tropez

Plage des Salins in Saint Tropez  |  Saint Tropez, France  |  Another alternative options to Plage Pampelonne. Less crowded or commercial, with a nice restaurant Les Salins which I am planning to try today for lunch. Ten minutes by car from the Port of St Tropez. Ride the Route des Salins which is the prolongation of Rue Gambetta, and you will be there in not time.

Plage Pampelonne in Ramataelle

Plage Pampelonne in Ramataelle France  |  Ramatuelle, France  |  Neighbor district to Saint Tropez, only 15 minutes away, holding beautiful beaches and the exclusive Club 55. Six kilometers of beach, and traslucid green waters of the Mediterranean Sea. You will drive along vineyards and classic Tropezienne Provence style house.

If I would have to compare this beach to anywhere in the beach, and maybe in general St Tropez, would be to Punta del Este, Uruguay in South America. Same vibe, although here the travelers are a notch more upscale.

There are areas for only PRIVE Access like Club 55, and also public beaches. But not to worry all, regardless their status are stunning. Enjoy the video and photos. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Hotel Check IN at Hotel Saint Amour la Tartane

Hotel Check IN at Hotel Saint Amour la Tartane  |  St Tropez, France  | Approximately 10 minutes from Saint Tropes Port, is Hotel Saint Amour la Tartane, on the Route to Plages de Salins. A lovely villa based concept hotel, on a classic Provence style. 28 Suites and Villas settled around a clear blue swimming pool (which I wish would be heated to jump in right now). Definitely a complete Saint Tropez experience compared to my previous stay at Rue Gambetta close to the port. Tonight dinner at their Asian restaurant. Now off to Plage Pampelonne and Le Club 55 for Lunch. More to come upon check out. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Pétanque at the Place des Lices St Tropez

Pétanque at the Place des Lices St Tropez  |  St Tropez, France  |  Pétanque derives from the French – pès tancats  –  feet anchored.  Place des Lices, is known to be the most chic square in the world where to play Pétanque. So off I went to se this, and learn a bit more about this traditional game of France, played by approximately 17 million people. The goal is, while standing inside a starting circle with both feet on the ground, to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet, which you see on the photo above as the small red ball.

I have also seen people, mostly young adults and tourists playing this game at the Jardins de Tuileries in Paris. The game is played in villages all over Provence, usually on squares of land in the shade of plane trees. TIP: Every Tuesday and Saturday from 8:00 am- 1:00 pm, players make way for an open-air market (“marché“) that is set up on the Place. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Tarte Tropézienne a tasteful classic

Tarte Tropézienne a tasteful classic  |  St Tropez, France  |  Every single person that knew I was in St Tropez, said the same exact thing ” Carlos please go and try a Tarte Tropézienne…” and so I did. A French Riviera specialty.  If you want to experience one of St Tropez’s classic, well do as I did and come to Senequeir Cafe at the port of St Tropez and have your on experience of a Tarte Tropézienne while you look at St Tropez life go by and enjoy the view of some of the most amazing yachts in the entire world.
A light sugared sponge cake garnished with a blend of three creams. A secret recipe which has been patented. Although I have been told that I must try the ones from Mika, in tribute to the Polish Pastry Chef Alexander Micka, who opened a bakery in the glamorous St Tropez, and got addicted to this cakes personalities like Brigitte Bardot. Yachts of Saint Tropez are MASSIVE

Yachts of Saint Tropez are MASSIVE   |  St Tropez, France  |  Tonight I walk to the port of Saint Tropez, and sat down at the promenade overlooking the yachts to have dinner at Cafe de Paris. I mean, I have been around the world and to chic destinations like this many times before, but sailing boats and yachts the size I have seen here in St Tropez, never before. They are just massive, beautiful and they look so high-tech. I spent over an hour walking watching them.
The two most impressive were Le Coure de Leon and Bliss. And I mention their names, because this two boat are very well known worldwide, and they sail in the Mediterranean as charter boats. And as a matter of fact, I know the company that does that. So if you need help charting any of these boats or others, let me know. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
