Things you must DO and SEE when in San Miguel de Allende

IMG_3973Things you must do and see when in San Miguel de Allende  |  San Miguel de Allende, Mexico  |  After my recent visit to San Miguel de Allende, here is my list of must DO and SEE things, which hopefully will help you plan your trip and maximize your time there. I was there for three nights. Unfortunately I did not have time to visit Guanajuato, but if you can, you should add extra time to your journey to do so. San Miguel de Allende is a city that manages to be both quaint and cosmopolitan at the same time. Once an important stop on the silver route between Zacatecas and Mexico City, its historic center is filled with well-preserved buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. With its narrow cobblestone streets, leafy courtyards, fine architectural details and sumptuous interiors, San Miguel de Allende is arguably the prettiest town in Mexico.

San Miguel de Allende#GPSCarlosMelia next stop San Miguel de Allende  |  San Miguel de Allende, Mexico  |  GPSCarlosMelia last minute travel alert !!! Next Sunday I will be coming to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for 3-nights invited by Belmond Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada and Rosewood San Miguel de Allende. The research has began for activities, restaurants and must see and do. All to be shared here and posted minute to minute at my Instagram and after my trip, here at carlosmelia.com. AHHH I am already dreaming with Green Salsa Chicken Chilaquiles for breakfast every morning… San Miguel de Allende, district of Guanajuato. One of the dining experiences I have planned there, already has me quite excited… lunch at Moxi Restaurant‬ by renown Mexican Chef Enrique Olvera followed by a walk-around Hotel Matilda. I missed trying his creations while in ‪‎Mexico ‬City during my last visit. Looking forward to it. ‪#‎EnriqueOlvera‬ is Mexico’s globally celebrated chef who has received numerous awards and whose Mexico City restaurant, Pujol, is #17 on the San Pellegrino list of the world’s 50 best restaurants. At Moxi, he unites traditional Mexican dishes with the latest techniques and cosmopolitan concepts, creating a menu with a Mexican soul and an international palate. Chef Olvera’s Moxi has fired a reputation for Hotel Matilda as a culinary innovator and destination for gourmands and food lovers. Stay tuned for this and more.  Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com

Our one night stay at the NEW Rosewood Beijing

Our one night stay at the NEW Rosewood Beijing Our one night stay at the NEW Rosewood Beijing   |  BeijingChina  |  Located in the district of Chaoyang, the brand new Rosewood Beijing opened its doors month ago. A very lovely option, which I would rank as my Top 3 hotel options to stay at in Beijing. We were there only for one night unfortunately, but its location was perfect to enjoy Beijing and after a long day exploring, withdraw to this urban oasis. Rosewood Beijing is the first incursion of Rosewood Hotels & Resort in Asia and the Chinese market, with two upcoming properties opening next 2017 in Sanya and Guangzhou.
