My night experience in Nice | Nice, France | Dinner last night at Regence private Restaurant at Le Negresco Hotel in Nice, France was just outstanding. Private room just for our group with an exquisite menu and selection of wines. You should try either this restaurant, or Chantecle or La Rotonde (which BTW is so kitsch and camp that at the same time is fabulous. You will literally be eating in a carrousel), both at the same property. Continue reading My night experience in Nice
My day exploring Nice | Nice, France | This is my third time in Nice, and this time I am only for 24 hours, invited by Le Negresco Hotel, on my way to my final destination for the next four days, Cannes. There I will be attending the ILTM 2013 – International Luxury Travel Market. I decided to explore areas of Nice I haven’t done before, and a big pending on my list was to explore Colline du Chateau, Tour Bellanda and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Baie des Anges from the top of the hill. Le Negresco Hotel unexpected Palace | Nice, France | If we talk about traditional hotels that exude luxury and charm, well I would risk to say the Le Negresco Hotel in French Riviera is on the top of my list. The minute you walk by the door and enter the lobby of the hotel, a fairy tale of sophistication unfolds. Le Negresco first opened its doors on January 8th, 1913. The hotel, designed by Henri Negrescu, immediately attracted a brilliant international clientele, Kings of the old and the new world. Jeanne Augier is the guardian of this myth. Owner of the Palace since 1957, this great lady – with deeply-rooted convictions – has devoted her life to the preservation and the development of this unique heritage. Hotel Check IN Le Negresco Hotel | Nice, France | Today after a fabulous stay in St Tropez for two days, I returned to Nice, which in many way is a smaller version of Paris. Same as two days ago, I checked IN at the lovely and chic, but veryyyyy eclectic Le Negresco Hotel. An institution in the city, known unanimously to be the best hotel in town, and I fully second that. I was here 4 days ago, when I got this stunning Suite overlooking the Promenade de Anglais, and the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This rooms have been renovated and modernized with some pop touches. Continue reading Hotel Check IN Le Negresco Hotel
Rue Bonaparte Le Petite Marais Nice | Nice, France | Now Nice also has its own Gay District. Still pretty small and rather quiet even on a Friday night. It happens along Rue Bonaparte behind the Place Garibaldi. The have named the district ” Le Petite Marais ” in homage to the gay neighborhood in Paris. At my hotel, Le Negresco, the concierge knowing who I was, provided me with a Gay Map of the City and shared with me the tips on this district and to try Gossip Bar for a quick dinner or drinks. TGV Gare de Lyon Paris to Nice Ville | France | Today I transfered all the way from Versailles to Nice, in a ver simple and smooth way, to get to Gare de Lyon Station in Paris to get onboard the TGV to Nice Ville. Almost 6 hours train ride in total. I did pre purchased my tickets in advance, thank God, because the train was fully booked, and that would have ruined my whole itinerary which already is very tight. 270 Euros Round Trip, including my trip to St Tropez and connections. I was rather excited to do this trip, first time on the TGV. The scenery was amazing, specially the second part of the journey, once you arrive to St. Raphael all the way to nice, passing by Cannes of course at hight speed.
