To TIP or not to TIP is the question America | United States | This week on a rage after a unfortunate incident at the curbside of the Delta Airlines Bags Check IN area at the Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans, I posted this comment on my Facebook Wall. A comment I have been holding for over 8 years, and it came out of my last Monday without any filter. I must say that I am guilty of generalization, and I publicly apologized for that, but despite of that I still stay firm on my believe that the TIPPING situation in the United States is ridiculous and blown out of proportion. What do you think ?. If you want to see the whole thread, I invited you to check my Facebook Wall @ Carlos Melia Facebook Profile. There is over 40 Comments and 55 Likes. What I like and most enjoy about this open platforms is that everyone can express how they feel and their point of view, in a polite and respectful way. As I always say Agree to Disagree , correct ?
And for the RECORD everyone what started this comment was not a waiter. Was my taxi driver and the Delta Airlines guy checking my bags at New Orleans Aiport. After he tagged my bags, he looks at me and says… We work on tips here. Really man.!!! You just charged me USD 60 to check my damn bag, after I paid USD 644 for a RT Ticket NYC / MSY / NYC and you still expect me TO TIP YOU.? Hell NO. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

New Orleans Hotel Check INs | New Orleans, United States | Generally I do a post per hotel I visit when I am traveling, but this weekend in particular was rather special, and to be honest I didn’t have much time left to explore and experience the properties as I like to do. So I will mentioned and quickly share the videos of the rooms of this two hotels I tried during my Super Bowl XLVII weekend, along with my partner Rubin Singer hosted by Beyonce.
The Windsor Court Hotel, former Orient-Express property located right in the French Quarters of New Orleans. From what we heard from everyone in town, considered to be one of the top hotels in town. Our Suite was very comfortable, featuring spectacular views of the Mississippi River. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. Nice entry, lovely old style deco. Classic English/French Vogue decor, 800 square feet of living and working space, oversized King bed, separate, large living room with couch, work desk and chairs, and French doors for privacy from the bedroom, private balconies among many other amenities you can see in the video. IMPORTANTCarlos Melia VIP Agreement with the hotel, when you book through me, you get the following extra complimentary VIP amenities: Continental Breakfast for 02 daily + Lunch x 02 once during the stay + Upgrade subject to availability. So keep this in mind. !!!
Tonight I am staying for my last night at the modern yet classic International House Hotel, only five block away from my previous hotel, also at the French Quarter. Hosted at a Panoramic Corner Room, in total eight in the entire hotel, offering perhaps the most compelling experience in the base building. With 12′ ceilings and two window-walls of natural light clad in theatrical sheers and velvetine drapes, each room feels particularly spacious and freeing to the human spirit. Like New Orleans, there is an ecclesiastical and handmade element woven into the design. Gali Art’s wrought-iron bedside tables with cruciform feet, Erica Larken’s totem-inspired cafe tables and the Pagan Cross corner console ebonized and silver-leafed, are each topped with honed Calcutta gold marble. Sharp Aquos flat-screens and iPod players are within easy reach. A generous seating area includes a 5′ x 8′ mirror, crystal chandelier and an “LM Chair”, the designer’s original chair-and-a half upholstered in antiqued velvet. The sprawling California King bed, with its 7′ tufted headboard and layers of white on white linens is framed dramatically by tall hammered-nickel lamps and animated by the slow moving Modern Fan Company “Flute” fan above. Generous bathrooms feature dark granite vanities with oval Kallista basins and an unusually elegant vanity light dressed in strands of cascading Swarovski crystals. The closet is also customized. Like the suites and penthouses, these rooms radiate this city’s signature sense of place and the optimism of this new time. GPS Carlos Melia LIVE from New Orleans | New Orleans, United States | SUPER Morning New Orleans. Hosted by the Beyonce‘s Team and along with my partner Rubin Singer, as said by The New York Times, the Man who gave Beyonce a Super Style (read more), I flew yesterday to New Orleans where I will be spending the next few days till Tuesday. I spent the entire day yesterday at Beyonce‘s compounds watching the rehearsals for the Half Time Super Bowl XLVII performance of tonight… and I just have to say SHE WILL KILL IT. Such an amazing professional, perfectionist to the last detail, kind, charismatic, BEYOND sexy and most important of all, same as all her family including Miss Tina – her mother – beautiful humble human beings. My partner, Rubin Singer, has designed the entire outfits which Beyonce along with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child and 150 backup dancers will be displaying and moving with incredible energy and power tonight live from the Mercedes Benz Super Dome in New Orleans. Time to put my EGO aside and let them shine, as they well deserve.
I am staying at the Windsor Court Hotel, former Orient-Express property, right on the French Quarters, till tomorrow night, and then moving for my last night to the International House Hotel. Unfortunately, since I am in charge for the Social Media for team Rubin Singer, I don’t think I will have much spare time to explore New Orleans as I would have liked, but this will be an amazing preview indeed. Thank you Beyonce, Miss Tina, and Team Beyonce for the front row vip tickets for the Super Bowl XLVII tonight. I will be there taping and taking photos to share them with all my followers. The styles for tonight, are still kept in secret. So this is for now, LIVE from New Orleans. Busy busy day and looking forward for tonights show and after parties. Stay tuned and have a lovely Super Bowl Sunday. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
