Travel Weekly quotes Carlos Melia about Thailand

Travel Weekly quotes Carlos Melia about Thailand  |  Travel Weekly  |  Travel Weekly, the National Newspaper of the Travel Industry in the United States, ran an article on …” Thailand rolls with the punches…” by Michelle Baran, referring to the resilience of Thailand as a vacation destination, to all the unfortunate events that in the last few years have affected inbound travel to Thailand and the region. Based on my two month on travel across Thailand and being there for the time of the floods, I was quoted on a few paragraphs as one to the conoceur of the region. L’Elephant Restaurant French-Lao Cuisine

L’Elephant Restaurant French-Lao Cuisine  |  Luang Prabang, Laos  | Ttraditional, as well as more creative, French and Lao cuisine made of local natural produce grown in their own gardens.  A typical 1960’s colonial building a stone’s throw from the Mekong River to welcome you. Managed and operated professionally, friendly and flawlessly, risking to say, L’Elephant is the most outstanding restaurant in Luang Prabang. Must try is the Banana Leaf wrapped Sea Bass on coconut milk. Yannic, one of the owners, French-Lao, not only took excellent care of us during our dinner at L’Elephant, but also happily volunteered to show us Luang Prabang by night. But that is for another post. For more information on L’Elephant – www.elephant-restau.com. Bookings in advance are highly recommended. CM

Don’t cry for me Thailand I will be back very soon

Don’t cry for me Thailand I will be back very soon  |  Thailand  |  I cannot believe that it is going to be a month since I arrived to Thailand. So much ground covered, so many amazing experiences and so many new friends and colleagues. Tomorrow I will be heading, on board Bangkok Airways to the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos, to the city of Luang Prabang for two nights, staying at the Amantaka by Aman Resorts. Main reason for this, other than satisfy my crave for new and alternative destinations…. is to renew my Tourist VISA to Thailand, which was only granted for 30 days. Regular practice among tourists and some expats living in Thailand. So my dear followers, expect some initial posts on this new destination, a great option to complement and combine with Amazing Thailand. Bangkok I am back on November 22nd. Can’t wait to be in this amazing and vibrant city. Stay tuned. CM

Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp

Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp  |  Golden Triangle, Thailand  |  I have just arrived to the Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp, and I have to say that I never stop being surprised. Golden Triangle is the point where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma) come together, surrounded by the Ruak River and Maekhong River. A secluded destination to enjoy hours interacting with elephants – training and trekking along with the expert guidance of the Mahouts – in this unforgettable experience. Just 15 tented accommodations – unique in luxury, complete with hand-hammered copper bathtubs – echo the romantic spirit of 19th-century explorers. All-inclusive Four Seasons adventures cover every detail, from drinks and dining to river boat excursions to meet local hill tribes. I will be posting more since I will be staying here for two nights. Continue reading Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp
