Meeting of the PR Minds at Biscotti in Bangkok

Meeting of the PR Minds at Biscotti in Bangkok  |  Bangkok, Thailand  |  Being my last two days in Bangkok… I am coming to my favorite spots to enjoy of one more time the things I have really enjoyed during my visit, and even much better if sharing it with the great friends and colleagues I have made during this last few months. This time I return not only to one of my favorite Italian restaurants, but also to one of my TOP hotels in Bangkok, the Biscotti Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel. (Photo above with Nicola Chilton – Regional Director of Public Relations for Four Seasons Thailand, iconic Paul Hicks – Business Partner of Grebstad Hicks Communications Asia’s leading Luxury Travel and Lifestyle Communications and of course moi.!!!). Some great Hotel and Restaurant PR, Communications and Marketing minds, and me ha ha ha… Lots to learn from the best. Only great times. CM

ARMANI/aqua Lounge come to Hong Kong

ARMANI/aqua Lounge come to Hong Kong  |  Hong Kong, Kowloon  |  Two of my absolute favorite brands have joined forces to create and even more spectacular space in Honk Kong. Thanks to the expert recommendation of my local friend James Gannaban, I had the pleasure to visit this exciting Lounge/Restaurant in Hong Kong, which seems taken out of a futuristic movie. But it seems I will need to come back and revisit since ARMANI is partnering with AQUA to create Armani/Aqua a refined restaurant where Giorgio Armani’s elegance meets the contemporary interior design of the eponymous flagship aqua restaurant at One Peking in Hong Kong. Photo above is the exact same table I share that evening with my friend James, while I was fully mesmerized by the fantastic panoramic views of the Hong Kong bay. The Langham Hong Kong Hotel

The Langham Hotel Hong Kong | Kowloon, Tsimshatsui, Hong Kong |  The Langham Hong Kong, was my first stay ever at this amazing destination that completely blew me away. And I have to say that for the time I stayed with them, I truly felt I was at home. The services, their staff and the overall experience, made me feel so comfortable and welcome that I would definitely come over again. Located in the area of Tsimshatsui at Kowloon Island, liveliest and most popular area of the city with an outstanding choice of shopping and entertainment. Only meters away from the waterfront, The Peninsula Hotel. Also very conveniently located to subways, shopping areas and one of my favorites the Fish/Flower/Jade/Birds Markets, which will transport you back in time to the old times of Hong Kong. Photo above is Edward Ma – Chief Concierge and 1st. Vice President of Les Clefs d’Or of Hong Kong and myself.

Does The Langham Hong Kong have the breathtaking views of the Hong Kong peninsula, as The Ritz-Carlton or The Peninsula Hotel or many others on the Central Island… no they don’t, but The Langham is distinguished among the hotels in Hong Kong because of the meticulous attention that goes into ensuring your accommodation is absolutely delightful. Preeminent among local hotels, with a refined European-style, with gracious charm and polished five star luxury, claiming, so they say, the legendary heritage of the original grand hotel. Enchantingly opulent surroundings, innovative amenities and bespoke service that anticipates your every whim.

More expansive accommodation is yours for the asking. The Langham presents an attractive selection of sophisticated suites in a range of sizes and configurations. Your suite is furnished with all the modern communications facilities and amenities conducive to productivity. Video above is of my room Grand Langham Room. The spa-style bathrooms are open to the living space, with the clever design of beautiful wooden shutter windows. Completing this room is the supremely comfortable Blissful Bed. All guests enjoy unlimited complimentary internet access at the Business Centre on Lobby Floor, and WiFi access in rooms with a charge.
Your accommodation will delight with: Unlimited complimentary internet access at the Business Centre on Lobby Floor. Wired and wireless broadband Internet access. DVD player and flat screen Television. Gourmet mini-bar. iHome audio deck. IP phone. Iron and ironing board. Separate shower stall with deep bath tub. Tea and coffee making facilities. Cable and satellite television channels. In-room electronic safe.
One of my favorites areas of the hotel, where I spend quite a few hours doing research, socializing and I must admit drinking/eating is the The Langham Club. Having recently undergone an impressive refurbishment The Langham Club is fast becoming the residence of choice for those in the know. Innovatively designed, with a rich European style, The Langham Club is an enchanting haven that leaves guests with a unique, lasting impression of the very best luxury has to offer.Located on the 11th floor, The Langham Club is open from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm daily, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and canapés.
What a great spot to start your day, rest in between or have your first round of drinks before hitting the night scene of this captivating city. Suite guests have complimentary access to The Langham Club. I wonder if after my visit there is still any more Rose Champagne left. HA. !!!
Health and Fitness flourish at The Langham. Guests who are concerned with looking and feeling good may, thanks to their excellent facilities, leave The Langham with a fitter body and a more relaxed mind. On the upper levels you will discover a well-equipped fitness centre and sparkling swimming pool. When the desire to rekindle your inner glow overcomes you, then step into our sauna or steam shower. A range of relaxing massage treatments and facials may also be arranged by advance appointment.
The Langham also has its own Les Clefs d’Or Concierge, and trust me, what better way to discover a new city than by the expert advice of a Les Clefs d’Or Concierge. Full compliments to Edward Ma, who made the whole difference to my visit. Not to mention the Limo he had me waiting at the lobby of the hotel for my transfers. Thank You.!
Unfortunately I did not have much time to enjoy the restaurants at the hotel. So many options in such a short visit, and I really wanted to check some of the restaurants around the island. But the local tradition by those living in Hong Kong, is to eat at the restaurants in the Hotel, so many that was poor planing from my side, since in the end I learnt that the best restaurants were within the same hotels. The Langham hosts 5 restaurants: L’Eclipse fueled by culinary creativity and an inspiring modern approach. Here, Chinese, Asian and Western fare is deftly prepared with generous helpings of flair and drama. T’ang Court two Michelin Stars restaurant – T’ang Court reflects the classic timelessness of the Tang Dynasty, China’s golden age. The Bostonian well-established American restaurant has long been a Hong Kong favourite. Main St. Deli in the true spirit of New York, Main St. Deli opened in April 2001 as Hong Kong’s first authentic New York style deli. Palm Court cosy meeting place is wonderful for discussing business or simply taking a break from the excitement of Tsimshatsui.
Time to leave unfortunately, but in style on the Limo courtesy of The Langham Hotel and Edward Ma. Thank you for a great stay. CM

Carlos to Chelsea gays: Let me help you leave town!

Carlos to Chelsea gays: Let me help you leave town! |  Chelsea, New York |  Thank you Scott Stiffler at Chelsea Now and Troy Masters at Gay City News for a great write up and profile on my business and myself. Upcoming destinations and trends are the core of the conversation. You may read the full interview at www.chelseanow.com

Only a few concepts to highlight from the full interview: …” That’s where travel expert, blogger and marketing consultant Carlos Melia comes in. The globetrotting gay culture vulture and boutique getaway guru recently spoke to us from the sunny, albeit somewhat predictable, travel destination of Ft. Lauderdale…” and ...” With a little prodding, though, Melia proudly admits that the niche within the queer niche he’s especially interested in appealing to these days is the LGBT luxury market — those who seek something more from a vacation experience than mindless consumerism and nightlife activities indistinguishable from what’s to be found on the streets (and alleys?) where they live. The Melia demographic appeals to those interested in food, wine, art, design, culture and religion…”
(*) Just one little TYPO I would like to correct. The photo at the bottom of page 15 where it says Lantau Island, Your new Panama Destination? should read San Blas Island, Your new Panama Destination?. Lantau Island is located in Hong Kong and is the Island where you go to see the Buddha, actually the biggest outdoors Seated Buddha in South East Asia. CM
