Back to La Bamba de Areco  |  San Antonio de Areco, Argentina  |  Because you should ALWAYS return and shared with loved ones, the best things in life, I chose to take Rubin to Estancia La Bamba de Areco, during our last visit to Buenos Aires. This is my second time at this Estancia, and believe me I have seen and experienced many, during my childhood and adult life as a native Argentinean, and this one is the one I choose to visit over and over. San Antonio de Areco, is one of my favorite retreats when visiting Buenos Aires, back to the Cradle of Gauchos culture and roots. Continue reading Back to La Bamba de Areco

Buenos Aires The Silver City

Buenos Aires The Silver City by www.carlosmeliablog.comBuenos Aires The Silver City  |  Buenos Aires, Argentina  |  This morning after 10 hours flight, I landed in Buenos Aires. Photo above is of the sun coming out over Buenos Aires, while landing at EZEIZA International Airport. The silhouette of the city with the Rio de la Plata behind shinning silver as the sun came out. Buenos Aires the “Silver City”. Argentina = Argentum (Ag) = Silver. The paradigm traced back to the first voyages made by the Spanish and Portuguese conquerors to the Río de la Plata which means “Silver River”, in the first years of the 16th century. But the sad truth is that La Plata Basin does not have any sources of silver, the only source can be found as far as I know close to Peru. Just sharing some Etymology. Anyhow, excited to spend the next two weeks here in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. Gay Planning Mode is back and next week I am full hands on planning my 6th International Gay Wedding. All to be posted at — at Rio De La Plata.

Gay Planning mode is back, June 7th, to plan a Gay Wedding, once again, this time for a lovely couple from the Republic of Guayana. But in the meantime, as I always do, I will take sometime off to explore new and traditional options. This time I will be reviewing the following hotels and services, some of them I have tried before, but since I am taking my boyfriend, Rubin Singer, for his first visit to Buenos Aires, I want to show him the best the city has to offer: HUB Porteño Buenos Aires and their private tours “Experiences of the City”. Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires and their new look after their big renovation. The iconic and traditional Alvear Palace Hotel and their brand new sister property the Alvear Art Hotel. Two days getaway to one of my favorite spots close to Buenos Aires as it is San Antonio de Areco, to show Rubin the true heritage of Gauchos and the Pampas at Estancia La Bamba de Areco and some intimate dinners at Tarquino Restaurant and ROJO Tango Show & Dinner. As usual all to be posted and featured here and at my Social Network. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Chimichurri Recipe right from San Antonio de Areco

Chimichurri Recipe right from San Antonio de Areco  |  San Antonio de Areco, Argentina |  If you love food as much as I do, you must try Chimichurri. The most traditional and renown Argentinean sauce, that goes very well with any type of meats, bread, salads…. you name it. Here is the traditional recipe I got today right from the kitchen of Estancia El Ombu, in San Antonio de Areco, cradle of Argentinean traditions, and from the hands of a local Paisana (aka. female Gaucho). Better than this… impossible. Enjoy it and let me know. CM
