Carlos Melia My day walking Paris in photos  |  Paris, France  |  Here is my photo album of my entire day walking in Paris. I think I have been to Paris at least forty times in my life, and I never seizes to amaze me with it beauty. My day began walking up and down Champs Elysees, when I decided, due to the amazing weather, to visit a local Flea Market to buy a few things for our new apartment in New York. I asked to the concierge at my hotel, and her recommended the Marche Vernaison at Marche aux Puces in St Ouen. (Metro  4 – Porte de Clignancourt). Since the sun was out and the temperature was ideal, I decided to walk from Hotel de Sers to the flea market, which took me approximately one hour.  Continue reading My day walking Paris in photos

L’Atelier Etoile de Joël Robuchon

L'Atelier Etoile de Joel Robuchon by www.carlosmeliablog.comL’Atelier Etoile de Joël Robuchon  |  Paris, France  |  A fantastic Hidden-Gourmet-Gem, in the heart of Etoile, off Champs Elysées and meters away from Arc de Triomphe. We discovered this restaurant thanks to the advice and invitation of our friend Valerie S., who is a regular when in Paris. Trust me on this one, as we trusted her. You will walk by the door of the Plubicis Drugstore (I know, you will say, Carlos went mad ?)… Go by, to the end of the hallway and down the mirror walled stairs… et Voila. !!! magic happens.
L'Atelier Etoile de Joel Robuchon by www.carlosmeliablog.comOn the top of les Champs Elysées and located in the Drugstore Publicis, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Etoile offers an original gastronomy based on the concept that allows the customers to observe the preparation of the dishes. Seven years after the opening of the first Atelier in Saint Germain des Près, this second Atelier welcomes his customers in a friendly and peaceful place where the executives chef David Alves and Filippos Chronopoulos and their staff prepare Joël Robuchon’s classic dishes in small or large portions depending on your appetite ! At L’Atelier de Joël robuchon Etoile you can choose between the counter or the tables for a complete freedom with a menu of more than sixty references renewed and varied where it is emphasized on seasons and daily market products.
L'Atelier Etoile de Joel Robuchon by www.carlosmeliablog.comGreat overall experience, menu, atmosphere and aesthetics. Amuse-Bouche, une Entree au choix, un plat au choix and either fromage or dessert. An I must mention that my dessert was just a piece of art. Not only the three of us enjoyed, over wine pairing, a fabulous conversation and eventing, but also Bruna joined us, and slept the entire dinner over their comfy black velvet sofas. A keeper. Thank you Valerie for the introduction and company. OH BTW the rumor is, that soon we will be lucky to have L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in New York. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Hotel Raphael Paris

Hotel Raphael Paris by www.carlosmeliablog.com Hotel Raphael Paris  |  Paris, France  |  I am still catching up with my last two month of extensive travels, and this time I am reporting on my recent visit to Paris during Fashion Week and my one night stay at the FABULOUS Hotel Raphael Paris member of LGTNetwork and Leading Hotels of the World. I mean, if we talk about style and old traditional charm. and we combine it with these three words Location Location Location, then click your hills Dorothy because you are in the heart of Paris, at a true heritage Parisian hotel. I fully get it, not the style everyone enjoys nor appreciates. It is not modern, it is stuffy and rococo, and I have to say I LOVE IT. This is my type of hotel when I want to have my true vivre dans le luxe European experience.

We were hosted at one Junior Suites. Epitome of the art of living in a hotel with luxury services and offer uniquely exclusive charm in a majestic setting. These unique suites boast Louis XV- and Louis XVI-style furniture and roomy wardrobes in mahogany and oak. A wood-carved archway and matching curtains partially separate the living room from the bedroom. Approximate surface area: 60m2. The living room is separated from the bedroom by a wood-carved archway. Roomy wardrobes. Marble or tiled bathroom. Separate shower (on request). Double bed or twin beds (extra bed on request). This category of room can interconnect with other rooms on request. See my Video of the Junior Suite.

But true to their level of excellence, Mademoiselle Bruna, was welcomed and treated like a princess, with her own plush bed, water bowl and some extra amenities. They even offered the service of have a Dog-Sitter, in case we would need it. She was granted access to all areas, including the breakfast room in the morning. GOD I LOVE FRANCE.

We were there only for one night, so my report is basically on the outlets and services I got to experience during my stay. A five-star hotel on Avenue Kléber, just a few streets away from fashion boutiques and museums, the Raphael offers quintessentially French luxury. A luxury hotel in Paris since 1925. 36 suites. 47 guest rooms. A gourmet restaurant. The english Bar. Roof terrace with panoramic views of Paris. Fitness Area. Business Centre, and my favorite feature and global allies, Les Clefs d’Or ‘Golden Keys’ concierges.

I enjoyed a few Coupes de Champagne and one or two Filthy Vodka Martinis there. The English Bar’s cozy, intimate mood recalls a London club. It’s an ideal spot for a quiet chat over a drink at any time of the day or evening. Subdued lighting, wood paneling and armchairs upholstered in red velvet… The epitome of luxury, tranquility and elegance.

The décor at the Raphael Restaurant is a sophisticated blend – a designer-chic ambiance allied with historical traditions. The immaculate white of the walls, the grey upholstery of the chairs and the aubergine hues of the curtains all combine to create a warm and cozy atmosphere.

LE CINQ Lunch at Four Seasons George V

Le Cinq Restaurant at Four Seasons George V Paris by www.carlosmeliablog.comLE CINQ Lunch at Four Seasons George V  |  Paris, France  |  If there is and iconic F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S hotel in Paris. without a doubt and second guess, is the Four Seasons George V, off Avenue George V and meters away Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. I came invited to do a site inspection of the property, but of course being Fashion Week, the hotel was SOLD OUT, and I only got to glance one of their Premier Suites, which BTW was lovely. I did a walk through the spa and common areas, all ornamented by stunning flower arrangements, signature of Four Seasons, followed by drinks at Le Bar overlooking Le Galerie and lunch at two Michelin-stars restaurant Le Cinq.
