Weekend relaxed mode in style at Belmond Maroma Resort

Observatory at Belmond Maroma ResortWeekend relaxed mode in style at Belmond Maroma Resort | Riviera Maya, Mexico | October for me was all about Riviera Maya, twice in one month. First to attend ILTM Americas, with an extension of a two nights stay at Hotel Esencia. And this last one, invited by Belmond Hotels, Journeys and River Cruises to Belmond Maroma Resort, as part of the founding members of their LGBT Advisory Board. I have been to Belmond Maroma Resort, countless times, and each time I check out, I make sure to plan for my next visit. For more tips and recommendations, check and follow me on Instagram, to see all my minute-to-minute past/current/future post and experiences on RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico. My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc

My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc by www.carlosmeliablog.com

My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc  |  Cancun, Mexico  |  Here some images of my luxury weekend at NIZUC Resort & Spa, hosted by LGTNetwork. This was my second time at this resort and spa, located at the private area of Punta Nizuc, a complete different experience to Cancun. Located only fifteen minutes away from Cancun International Airport. This time I was hosted at one of their lovely Penthouse Suites, located at the Residences Towers. Some of the great activities during my three days visit were, 5-Steps Mexican imbued gourmet dinner at the Chef’s Table at RAMONA Restaurant. Paddle-Boarding along the coast of Punta Nizuc and the mangroves. Paddle board yoga, over the green crystal waters of Nizuc Bay. Spa treatments and hydrotherapy cycle at their spa by ESPA. Cocktails and starters at Terra Nostra Restaurant, follow by a full dinner at Indochine, including options from all corners of Asia. Fantastic Peruvian lunch, with gorgeous beach views at Ni Restaurant. Private party hosted by Cartier to launch their arrival of the new collections to Mexico. And many many more. You can read one of the article that has already surface by one of my fellow travelers, joining our group @ A luxury Mexican resort designed with LGBT travelers in mind by Cameron Lee. Thank you to all the team at NIZUC Resort & Spa, and to LGTNetwork – Luxury Gay Travel Network.  Continue reading My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc

NIZUC Resort & Spa

NIZUC Resort by www.carlosmeliablog.comNIZUC Resort & Spa  | Riviera Maya, Mexico  |  I have to admit, I have never been a fan of Cancun, and most of the times I have visited Riviera Maya, I have gone to Maroma Beach and up, like Tulum. But I think, the new NIZUC Resort, has changed my mind, and I would consider a pre/post experience at Punta Nizuc. The rumor says, the original plan was to create residences by Aman Resorts, but the project was stopped. Mexico based hospitality group Brisas took over and develop the project in full. Funny enough, the moment I stepped foot into the property, my first feeling was ” Mexico meets Asia” and question was, … was anyone from Aman Resorts or COMO Hotels involved into this project, and funny enough in some way they were.  Continue reading NIZUC Resort & Spa

AEROMEXICO New York to Cancun

AEROMEXICO by www.carlosmeliablog.comAEROMEXICO New York to Cancun  |  Airlines  |  I flew Aeromexico from New York City to Cancun, to come to Riviera Maya. The experience was, although I flew on Economy, very enjoyable, not to mention that it is such an easy flight. Only in 3 hours, we were landing, early… shocking right, at Cancun International Airport. Member of SkyTeam, therefore you will collect miles with the Delta Airlines group. I flew on a brand new state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800, being the youngest fleet, I would risk to say, flying in between United States and Mexico. Departure at JFK International Airport was from Terminal 1. Cabin felt clean and with new. Onboard Aeromexico features comfortable seats, individual entertainment system with a nice selection of movies, music, TV shows, games and even, same as Virgin Atlantic, the message service in between seats. I was surprised they still do not offer WiFi Connection, but I think none of the competition does either on this route. My flight was early in the morning, therefore on a 3 hours flights they served Breakfast, which you can see in the photo below, with the option of Omelette or Waffles. They only did one round of beverage, which should have been twice instead. Bathrooms are rather small, so keep that in mind if you have issues moving. The feature only two classes on this flight, Economy and Business. It would be great to see a Premium Economy as well. As for Business, all I can say is that they had a total of 12 seats which look very comfy. I will try to be upgraded on my way back, to give a full report on this. OH and I forgot to mention that the overhead bins were quite wide and deep. Overall a great experience, and I would not hesitate to fly them again in the future. To me Aeromexico, was the same positive surprise and experience as I enjoyed a year ago with Aeroflot, also member of SkyTeam.
