The Elephant Whisperer passing the message around

20120830-132949.jpg
Time to pass it around and share this amazing story. I read it last year during my trip to Botswana, such a magical way to explore the cradle of life. I would have never expected that months after I would be living with the Elephants in the North of Thailand. This book taught me so much about them to the point of tears. Loyalty, love and life in general. I am happy to pass it to someone I know will enjoy and cherish it as much as I had – The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence Anthony

Hunting and Poaching Elephants Shame on you IGNORANT

Hey King Juan Carlos, this is the only way you should hunt an elephant, with your camera. Typical example that money and power does get you away from being an IGNORANT. Your apologies will not get them back. Now I wonder, WWF isn’t it Elephants hunting and poaching illegal ? Why is King Juan Carlos still the President of the WWF Spain Chapter?. Is he going to get away with it just because he is part of a falling monarchy ? Funny enough today I read an article, where it says that since the numbers of Elephants are increasing, then it is legal to kill them… Watch out people, if we start increasing our numbers, then it will be also legal to kill one another. Shame on you King Juan Carlos, Donald Trump…. who is next ?
Did you know that there are many organizations around the world, which are helping to protect the elephants, and you can help.? One of them, which I have visited 2 times is in the Northern of Thailand, supported by Four Seasons Hotels and it is called Think Elephants International. And you can help them support them too. Keeping and elephant in great conditions costs an average of USD 3000 a year, and you can adopt your own elephant or help with many of them. I am trying to adopt Thong Kham, so if anyone wants to help PVT me. !!!!! Lets turn this AWFULL shameful news into something much better. CM

Eagle Island Camp by Orient Express

Eagle Island Camp by Orient Express   |  Okavango Delta, Xaxaba Island, Botswana  | Situated on remote Xaxaba Island among a web of waterways and lush vegetation, it overlooks a lagoon that attracts a breathtaking variety of big game and exotic birds. Explore the region by local canoe, set out on a game drive or roam on foot. One of the three Orient Express Camps I visited during my trip across Botswana and Souther Africa. One of the most romantic bars in the world, accommodation you would expect of a luxury safari experience, and air/river Safaris that will take your breath away.  Continue reading Eagle Island Camp by Orient Express

Helicopter Safari over the Okavango Delta Botswana

Helicopter Safari over the Okavango Delta Botswana  |  Okavango Delta, Botswana  |  Sweeping landscapes, herds on the move. I would say that one of the highlights of my trip around Botswana, has been the helicopter ride provided at Eagle Island Camp by Orient Express in Okavango Delta, Botswana. Stunning views of one of the last on growing deltas in the world, crystal clear waters, aerial views of hippopotamus and elephants on their own environment and the full adrenaline to be flying on an open doors helicopter in the middle of the Southern African wetland. And this is how you wait to your flight in Botswana  |  Okavango Delta, Botswana  |  Your attention please, ladies and gents, giraffes and elephants, your 3-seater small private plane by Mac Air is about to land. After a few minutes and brief safety speech, if lions sleeping on the runway permit, we will take off from Okavango Delta to your next destination in Savuti at Chobe National Park. Mind the dust and the heat, and stay alert from the lions, hyenas and hippopotamus. Believe it or not, the white path that you see behind our Land Rover, … that is the runway. Finally I saw the Baobab Tree in Botswana

Finally I saw the Baobab Tree in Botswana  |  Okavango Delta, Botswana  |  Finally I have seen the BAOBAB Tree. Yes the same I used to read about when I was a child ” The Little Prince ” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This happened during our Helicopter ride by Orient Express at the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The Baobab Tree is also known as the tree of life, with good reason too. It is capable of providing shelter, food and water for the animal and human inhabitants of the African Savannah regions.  Continue reading Finally I saw the Baobab Tree in Botswana
