Palermo Place in Palermo Hollywood

Palermo Place in Palermo Hollywood  |  Buenos Aires, Argentina  |  Last night I spent it at the brand new Palermo Place Buenos Aires, located in the neighborhood of Palermo Hollywood. I would best define them as a basic, clean, modern accommodation option, more as an apartment with extra services than a hotel. Apartment units with all the basic services of a four stars hotel. Conveniently located walking distance to Palermo Soho and Las Canitas, 2 blocks from the subway station.

Palermo Place designed its rooms to truly provide you with a home away from home, and once again I think this is what defines and classifies them best. Although they promote themselves as a luxury boutique hotel, I would rate them as a modern apart complex, with fully equipped units and reduced hotel services. Prices per night range from USD 174 on depending on the season, room type and breakfast, which is a great price based on the quality of the units. I was hosted at a Super Deluxe City View Room on the 5th floor, featuring modern comforts, complimentary WI-FI, complimentary coffee in room, coffee maker, full bathroom amenities, bathrobes, full kitchenette, in room safe, LCD TV with international programming and movie channels, free local calls and faxes, and reasonable international LD rates. Extremely comfortable beds with the optional configuration of a King Size bed or two Twin Beds. Small bathroom, with in room sink.
I must be fully honest, Palermo Hollywood has never been one of my favorite districts of Buenos Aires, but I know that most of the times I stand on my own on this idea. Most tourist love this part of the city, due to its bohemian local personality, and the fact that some of the best restaurants in town are located here. So there you go, it is up to you to decide. Without a doubt you will get a very local porteño experience.
Small basic fitness room on the 7th floor with a workout machine, a treadmill and an elliptical. And outdoor space with deck chairs. On the 8th floor there is a rooftop terrace with a common space to host your own typical parrilladas “barbecues”.
Although the property does not have a food and beverage outlet or room service, every morning you may choose among several local options for your breakfast. Upon Check IN they will provide you with daily vouchers to be used at any of the many charming restaurants and cafeterias in the neighborhood. My favorite option was Panionly two blocks away. A classic Argentinean homemade breakfast, including the local delish – dulce de leche and homemade bread “Pan de Campo”. Since the units count with fully equipped kitchenette, you may choose to fix your own breakfast and meals, or take advantage of the food delivery from over 50 local restaurants. Palermo Place also offers the service of personal shopping and custom stocking of refrigerator and pantry prior to arrival

In conclusion, if you are looking for a plus quality accommodation option, more into experiencing Buenos Aires as a local, home away from home at a rather affordable price, then Palermo Place should be in your “To Consider” list in a heartbeat. Staff is friendly, bilingual and attentive to help you beyond expectations. If you are looking for a full service five star up hotel, located in the heart to the happening, maybe this is not your option. Short-Term Rental Ban in New York City

Short-Term Rental Ban in New York City |  New York City |  Are you one of those, that use to come for a week to New York City and choose to stay at an apartment over a hotel.? Well I don’t know if you heard, but a law regulating vacation rentals in New York City was passed (end of 2010) and it took effect on May 1, 2011. This new law will ban the renting of apartments that do not hold a hotel license for rentals of less than 30 days duration, or in buildings that have more than 2 dwelling units and that do not hold a hotel license. What does this mean to you.? that most of Manhattan apartments will not be able to be rented legally for Short-Terms or vacation purposes. Most websites, are now proposing lots of apartments in the north part of the city (south Harlem) and in Brooklyn that can be legally rented for less than 30 days. The reason is that in these neighborhoods (which are great neighborhoods by the way) you can find lots of 2 dwelling unit houses, which are not affected by the law. NYC Luxury Apartment Rentals

NYC Luxury Apartment Rentals   |  New York, United States | I am just back to Buenos Aires after spending 4 days in New York City. This time I decided to be adventurous and experience a different New York, the one that most people consider the forbidden word and the lost gay land….. New Jersey. Ha ha ha … you should have seen the jaws dropping when I was telling friends and acquaintances that I was not in Manhattan…. I used to be one of them, you would not take me out of Chelsea, the West Village, Tribeca or SOHO, but after this experience I am not ashamed of saying up loud… I’VE STAYED IN NEW JERSEY AND I LIKED IT.

Courtesy of JC Luxury Apartment Rentals ( blue tower, second building from left to right ), I had an amazing stay that combined, only minutes away from the Big Apple, the best happening and highlights of Manhattan with the tranquility and breathtaking views of New Jersey shore. Thank you to Jarl (owner) and all his staff.

Either for your vacation or corporate rental needs, JC Luxury units offer all the amenities you may expect and more, only 5 minutes from the World Trade Center, either by Ferry or Train. The building is located on the second row from the Hudson River shore of New Jersey, 5 blocks away from the ferry terminal of Paulus Hook and the Path train station of Exchange Place. ( picture above was the lateral view from my bedroom and the one below the frontal panoramic view of the Statue of Liberty from the bed )

There are multiple options, from Studios to 1 – 2 0r 3 bedroom apartments. Studios ( max. 2 people ) from USD 125 – 01 Bedroom ( max. 4 people ) from USD 125 to 295 – 02 Bedroom ( max. 6 people ) from USD 165 to 445 and 03 Bedroom ( max. 8 people from  USD 225 to USD 575. All fares are per night per unit and the prices vary depending on the view and floor.

This two towers complex, called 70 Greene is a brand new development, offering the comfort a 5 star hotel with the privacy of your own apartment. As you may see in the video, each unit, regardless of its size, is equipped with a full kitchen, laundry room, plasma TV, AC / heating, cable and complementary WiFi access.

On top of that, guests are allowed and welcomed (included in the final price) to use all amenities such us: Outdoor Pool – Gym (a real and big one) – Business Center – Concierge and other indoors/outdoors common areas. Also keep in mind that sales TAX on this side of the Hudson River is only 6% compared to the 12, 14 % or more that you would be paying at hotels or apartments in Manhattan.

The ferry was my favorite way to get to/from Manhattan enjoying the views with sipping through my coffee. Runs (only 5 minutes each way) from early morning till 09.30PM from/to the Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal to/from the World Trade Center every 10 minutes. (USD 5.50 each way). With some of the most beautiful day/night views of Manhattan that you will get to see

The PATH Train (only 2 minutes each way) from/to the World Trade Center to/from Exchange Place Station, will save you money and time. Just 5 blocks away from the apartments taking you directly to the Financial District and connection with the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 subway lines. (USD 1,75 each way). This service is operative 24hs. So, what do you think ? are you up for the adventure. For a room of this size, comfort and style, you will be paying 30 to 50% more in Manhattan. Do not let the location full you. New Jersey sound OUT but believe me once you do the numbers and take into account the ratio quality/service/price you will see the benefits of visiting/sightseeing/partying/shopping in the Big Apple and sleeping in Jersey.
