Pommeau a classic of Normandy | Deauville, France | Pommeau is an alcoholic drink made in northern France by mixing apple juice with Calvados (apple brandy). Pommeau is made by mixing two thirds apple juice to one third of one year old Calvados. The proportions are chosen to ensure that the resulting mixture has 16-18% alcohol by volume. If you enjoy a good Cider like I do, then you will be very happy to open your meal with a glass of Pommeau. I visited several Calvados distilleries during my visit to Normandy, and believe me I have got a very rounded knowledge about it now ha ha ha… CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
