Kremlin intra-muros and Armory Chamber  |  Moscow, Russia  |  One of the must visit destinations when in Moscow. The Kremlin (meaning fortress) is not the only on its kind in Russia, but definitely the most unique and relevant on Russian history.  Overlooking the Moskva River (to the South), Saint Basil’s Cathedral and Red Square (to the East) and the Alexander Garden (to the West).

Unfortunately you can only do photos out of the churches, buildings and exhibitions, so I can only show you the facedes and outdoor areas here. It will take you a full morning or more, depending on which exhibitions you take, and how much in detail you wish to go.

The Kremlin or the fortress, includes four palaces, four cathedrals and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers. The complex serves as the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation. Some highlights of the visit are…
The Assumption Cathedral was the site of coronation of Russian tsars. It is located on the north side of Cathedral Square.
Grand Kremlin Palace  formerly the tsar’s Moscow residence, had been established in the 14th century on Borovitsky Hill.
The Kremlin Armory Chamber, along with the Diamonds Exhibition are two must see while exploring the Kremlin. The second raking top together with similar exhibitions in England and in Iran. The Armory Chamber, is one of the oldest museums of Moscow, established in 1808. The carriages room is just unbelievable.
Spasskaya Tower, with its ruby star added in 1937. Is the main tower with a through-passage on the eastern wall of the Moscow Kremlin, which overlooks the Red Square.
The Tzar Bell, also know as the Tsarsky Kolokol or Royal Bell. Made of bronze, the bell was broken during casting and has never been rung. This bell currently is the biggest bell in the world.

And of course upon exiting the Kremlin, you have to come all the way around to the Red Square, to enjoy more breathtaking views of the Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Lenin’s Mausoleum and the Kremlin itself, of course.
