Social Media vs. Return on Investment | HotelsMag.com | One of the best articles I have read on the hot topic among Hoteliers, travel destinations and suppliers, and Social Media. Many travel suppliers, specially hoteliers are still looking for the connection between social media and revenue generation or ROI - Return on Investment. Every day when I approach a new hotel or travel supplier and present my portfolio of digital resources and Social Media Network, I get asked the same question, RIO. Always my reply has been, the approach to social media in search of direct sales it is mistaken. Social Media is not a a purchase platform, but a proven successful positioning tool and decision making platform. Social media is about the EXPERIENCE and the CUSTOMER. Social Media is the new "Word of Mouth". Clients/Friends/Followers/Fans they want to see experience, they want to see raw content, photos, videos.... finally someone manage to word in one piece the concept I have been trying to explain for the last 4 years, which you can see everyone online at www.carlosmeliablog.com / Source: HOTELSMag.com by Tony and Jason Potter.

This time in Mexico to subject is of course the Tequila, but also the Mezcal, not very well known by many, but very important for Mexico. So the Four Seasons Punta Mita, assigned their Tequila Sommelier, to give us a tasting class.

Just woke up from a long fun night out in London, where do we go, where do we go.... that it is not far from our new hotel, the Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane, and the telephone rings, our friend John on the other side with all plans made, literally saved by the bell. Jump on the taxi on a rush of time and hunger, ha ha ha and two embarrassing and 4 pounds later, we arrive to 34 Restaurant. Local with touches, surprisingly, of Argentinean touches.

London is calling me, and I am coming. Being on the TOP 5 of my favorite cities in the world, I never say no to my beloved London, specially when being hosted at the Chambers by the recently restored iconic St Pancras Hotel by Renaissance. London’s finest suites are in the original Chambers building with Butler Service, Private Club access & a spa offering 6 treatment rooms, gym & pool. Second stay will be at the Grosvenor House, in Park Lane. To be fully honest, ha ha ha I have never in my life been so happy and excited to stay at a Marriott property before. I see that Marriott is bringing sexy back with style and sophistication, with some of their premium signature brands, which I am sure most of you, mortal tourists, no idea were under their umbrella, like Bulgari, EDITION, The Ritz-Carlton and of course JW Marriott. One last reason and excuse for our trip to London, is Beyonce's Concert at the O2 Arena, which we - Rubin and I, will be assisting with a nice entourage of friends both from New York and London. So you better stay tuned, because London is Calling and I am answering. See you in London Darlings !!!
