How would you like to spend the night here when in Montevideo.? • a brand NEW option in the city of MONTEVIDEO at the most traditional and iconic buildings of this charming city the Palacio Salvo.
Palacio Salvo is located at the intersection of 18 de Julio Avenue and Plaza Independencia. It was designed by the architect Mario Palanti, an Italian immigrant living in Buenos Aires, who used a similar design for his Palacio Barolo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Finished in 1925, Palacio Salvo stands 100 metres high with the antenna included.
It was built on the site where the Confiteria La Giralda was once located, a place renowned for being where Gerardo Matos Rodríguez wrote his tango La Cumparsita, in 1917.

Today while walking around the bohemian and interesting area of MERCADO DEL PUERTO in Montevideo – Port Market – I was introduced to a typical drink of this city, that from now on… among many others have become a new addiction. Not for nothing in less than an hour two full bottles of Medio y Medio were rolling empty along the alleys of the market.
Gay Marriage NOW coming to Uruguay. ?
Gay Marriage NOW coming to Uruguay.? Today while I was having my breakfast at Casa los Jazmines, to my surprise, Gay Marriage coming to Uruguay was one of the main topics of the Sunday edition of EL PAIS newspaper (among the most important in Uruguay), together with an very interesting article about Gay Adoption. It seems the domino effect once again is working between Argentina and Uruguay, and this time looks like it would be in favor to our community and rights. Uruguay already has the Civil Union, and soon I see the Gay Marriage passing.
