Sunday run at Hudson River Park

Sunday run at Hudson River Park by www.carlosmeliablog.comSunday run at Hudson River Park  |  New York, United States  |  As almost everyday, today I went out to enjoy a lovely sunny Sunday running along the Hudson River at the Hudson River Park, in Manhattan, New York City, on the West side. Since my running partner abandoned me today, I was bored and played a bit with my iPhone while running, to keep me away from thinking how many more minutes or miles I had left. (3,5 miles / 497 Cal). Hope you enjoy my live video. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Session 09 at Inform Fitness

Session 09 at Inform Fitness  |  Inform Fitness  |  Yesterday was my session number nine at Inform Fitness, and this time I trained with a different coach. I feel each day stronger, and according to my trainer, he keeps adding weight and I keep lifting them till exhaustion. I am still amazed, how I am seeing same results or more working out only 20 minutes a week, compared to the 12 hours I used to spend in the past. My private trainer and owner of Inform Fitness, was this week in Los Angeles, supervising their gym in the city and training a few fellow Travel Bloggers I recommended.
I have, put myself in the expert hands of two renown professionals here in New York City, Adam Zickerman, author of the New York Time’s Bestseller, The Power of 10, and owner of Inform Fitness. You can follow Adam’s blog posts @ http://informfitness.com/blog/CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Inform Fitness featured in Nicaragua

Inform Fitness featured in Nicaragua  |  Inform Fitness  |  So last week I previewed my brand new body, shaped and toned by the expert advise of Adam Zickerman at Inform Fitness. Believe it or not, at my 38 years, I stay like this by working out only once a week for 20 minutes. I might not be bigger or more muscular than before, or maybe yes, but the fact that nowadays I only spend 20 minutes a week working out, compared to 13 hours I use to take before, and get the same results, it is pretty impressive. I see results, I save time and now, I have no excuses to miss my week workout. Staying healthy, fit and being efficient with my time, isn’t that what we all want.
Not being egocentric at all, but this weekend I raised comments and compliments by both men and women. I want to show with facts that my 20 minutes workout with Inform Fitness is working. And again, working out is not the right approach for loosing weight. They are two different things.

BTW first time that I come to a Resort and I do not use the gym at all. Just because I didn’t need to, since my workout of the week was done. I did went for a run or two, but because I enjoy doing this while on the beach.

Session 06 Exercise is a poor approach to loosing weight

Session 06 Exercise is a poor approach to loosing weight  |  Inform Fitness  |  So today was my session number 6th at Inform Fitness with my personal coach and creator of Inform Fitness, Adam Zickerman. During my 20 minutes training we discussed various topics, and one that really stayed in my mind was his statement that …” exercise is a poor approach to loosing weight..” Quite controversial I would say, right. We go to the gym and we spend the least one hour working out, doing cardio, and the truth, contrary to what many of us think or are told, the key to weight loss is not on exercising, but on what you eat and how you eat. Of course exercise is a way to keep you weight controlled, and it is one of the aspects to loose the extra pounds, but the truth is that xercise can never out a poor diet. Exercise is a poor approach to loosing weight.
My approach, by the professional coaching of Inform Fitness, is to work out only 20 minutes a week, focusing on building, toning and making my body as strong as they can be. Weight control, well I leave that to nutrition and a healthy diet. Both combined make the magic, or at least I feel that way, judging from the photos above, you will make your own opinion. But if you are not fully convinced, then have a look at this before and after true story of one of Inform Fitness’ clients @ The Lose Fat and Get Strong Challenge.

Session 05 Muscle Confusion is a myth

Session 05 Muscle Confusion is a myth  |  Inform Fitness  |  Holidays are over, and I am back in New York… so no more excuses and back to my fitness training. You know what they say, no pain no game or gain ha ha ha… but hey when it is only for 20 minutes a week, who really cares right ?. Adam surprised me with a brand new training session, and my first quote was …” ah the classic muscle confusion..” to which he corrected me and explain me that muscle confusion is just a myth saying … “Nonsense! Muscles can’t be ‘confused,’ duped or even bewildered. Muscles don’t predict, anticipate or get bored…” Read more on this subject at Inform Fitness Blog. As for me, well I got to the point, in 20 minutes believe it or not, that I wanted to cry and give up, but hey when you keep seeing the results in your body being shaped and toned to detail, once again no pain no game.

Session 03 and others are starting to join  |  Inform Fitness  |  So this week was my third 20 minutes a week training session with Adam Zickerman, and he keeps pushing me to the limit of exhaustion. Same quick training, in and out the door, with a full body workout. And now it is not only me saying this, but followers of CarlosMeliaBlog.com are starting to join and have their own comments and experiences. Session 02 Increasing weight and resistance

Session 02 Increasing weight and resistance  |  Inform Fitness  |   Today was my second session at Inform Fitness under the supervision of Adam Zickerman. Once again 20 minutes to the point of muscle failure, and this time I did a few videos to see how this works on me. Very slow movements counting up to 10 each way, and constantly watching your posture and breathing. The most important part is the total control of the movement. I don’t know you guys, but I see a huge progress since last week, and I feel lighter and more toned. (see last week’s photo). I am not here to endorse anyone, only images will speak.

Only two weeks and I am already seeing huge results. Remember I started training after a three month trip around the world, that got me eating, drinking and not training at all. I have continued with my cardio training, because I love running, and yoga, but following the directions of Adam, I have stopped my weights training, and limited to 20 minutes ONCE a week, with him. Video above is the Legs Training, you will see I reach the point that I cannot lift the wait any longer. When I tried to stand up, I almost fell to the floor, since my muscles were totally exhausted.

Back Training… do not laugh at the shaking… Although machines may look the same regular ones you see at any gym, all this machines have been modified and redesigned by Adam Zickerman, to maximize their performance, allow extra smooth movements and guarantee the best ergonomic positions for your workout, therefore avoiding any type of injuries.

Chest Training this time. And again only one step of as many repetitions as you can till you muscles say NO MORE or Adam indicates so. You get to the point of giving up, or crying ha ha ha…. but it feels sooooo good afterwards.

This is the training room. A very quiet and private environment. Not more that 4 people training at the same time, each with its own coach and trainer. Located on the second floor of building located right at the Upper East Side on 56th Street.
20 minutes with the Power of 10…. it is all that took today for my full body workout. Legs, arms, abs, back under the private supervision of Adam Zickerman at Inform Fitness. Muscle fatigue to the point of failure. Trust me FAILURE. He guaranteed that in a few weeks I will have tone and increased my muscle mass. Turning 38 years old, being a former gymnast, I have reached a plateau in my training, not seeing results and getting frustrated. Believing that more weight, more reps, more sets more time would make the magic… Inform Fitness has proposed me for a different take, 20 minutes a week, 1 set of each exercise, going as slow as possible with average weight. We will see what happens. I am up for the challenge. Long time since I felt like that. Looking forward to my next week appointment. At Inform Fitness locations in New York, Los Angeles and soon Santiago de Chile, silence is your soundtrack, the temperature is controlled, and the instructor is your mirror. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Session 01 Total muscle failure in only one set

Total muscle failure in only one set  |  New York, US  |  I know… not the best shot of me right, well blame it on my last 3 month of non-stop traveling, a debauchery of food, drinks and laziness, guilty of all that. But for the sake of logging my progress with Inform Fitness I need to show you how I look on Session 01 of my training.

20 minutes with the Power of 10…. it is all that took today for my full body workout. Legs, arms, abs, back under the private supervision of Adam Zickerman at Inform Fitness. Muscle fatigue to the point of failure. Trust me FAILURE. We will see what happens. I am up for the challenge. All I can say, is that today he beat the hell out of me in 20 minutes, leaving me in a full body shacking condition. The first words that came out of my mouth were… it feels so good to feel the burn, to the point of saying I give up.
