Customer Feedback Gay Marriage | Customer Feedback | As many of you know, my last two weeks were in Buenos Aires, Argentina, planning my 6th. International Gay Wedding. Well yesterday I arrived back to New York, and today I have the honor and satisfaction to receive this email from this lovely couple commenting on their overall experience, wedding planning process, my services and more. I am beyond happy when my clients are happy, and this letters speaks for itself. Some photos below. Unfortunately, since we still live in a global society full of prejudice and discrimination, I have decided in this case to keep the identity of my clients and this lovely Groom+Groom couple private, reason why the blurry faces. My best wishes and wishes of happiness to the Grooms, was a pleasure to assist you through this process, and spending time with you guys as well. Buenos Aires The Silver City | Buenos Aires, Argentina | This morning after 10 hours flight, I landed in Buenos Aires. Photo above is of the sun coming out over Buenos Aires, while landing at EZEIZA International Airport. The silhouette of the city with the Rio de la Plata behind shinning silver as the sun came out. Buenos Aires the “Silver City”. Argentina = Argentum (Ag) = Silver. The paradigm traced back to the first voyages made by the Spanish and Portuguese conquerors to the Río de la Plata which means “Silver River”, in the first years of the 16th century. But the sad truth is that La Plata Basin does not have any sources of silver, the only source can be found as far as I know close to Peru. Just sharing some Etymology. Anyhow, excited to spend the next two weeks here in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. Gay Planning Mode is back and next week I am full hands on planning my 6th International Gay Wedding. All to be posted at www.carlosmeliablog.com — at Rio De La Plata.
Gay Planning mode is back, June 7th, to plan a Gay Wedding, once again, this time for a lovely couple from the Republic of Guayana. But in the meantime, as I always do, I will take sometime off to explore new and traditional options. This time I will be reviewing the following hotels and services, some of them I have tried before, but since I am taking my boyfriend, Rubin Singer, for his first visit to Buenos Aires, I want to show him the best the city has to offer: HUB Porteño Buenos Aires and their private tours “Experiences of the City”. Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires and their new look after their big renovation. The iconic and traditional Alvear Palace Hotel and their brand new sister property the Alvear Art Hotel. Two days getaway to one of my favorite spots close to Buenos Aires as it is San Antonio de Areco, to show Rubin the true heritage of Gauchos and the Pampas at Estancia La Bamba de Areco and some intimate dinners at Tarquino Restaurant and ROJO Tango Show & Dinner. As usual all to be posted and featured here and at my Social Network. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

The New York Times features Gay Marriage | New York, United States | What a better way to end my stay in Buenos Aires, than finding out this morning, that The New York Times has featured on their Weddings/Celebrations section of this Sunday edition, the Gay Wedding I have planned here in Buenos Aires, Argentina for David Knopf and Edwin Marrero, this lovely couple from San Francisco, California, in their mid 50s that decided to tie the knot and say YES I DO in full legal rights in Argentina. To me the pat in the back of a job well done. Congrats guys !!!! Enjoy your Honeymoon. Customer Feedback David and Edwin | Buenos Aires, Argentina | This is why I love my job and I am damn good at it.!!! The feedback from my clients nature me, either when they are positive and also when they let me know what I did wrong, because that is the essence of learning and becoming a true professional. David and Edwin, both came to Buenos Aires all the way from San Francisco, to tie the knot and say YES I DO. They trusted me to be their bespoke Wedding Planner. Thank you David and Edwin, for trusting such an important event and day of your lives in my hands, and following my judgement all along the way. You are such a lovely couple, that it has been a joy and honor for me to assist you. CONGRATS to the newly weds. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Phase III For the sake of Marriage Equality | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Phase III is complete and this morning at the City Hall #14 of the city of Buenos Aires, in front of the judge and the two witnesses, Edwin M. and David K. said to each other YES I DO, and exchanged vows and rings in a very moving and emotional, but private ceremony. If you were a local – aka. a full resident, the cycle would end here, but since they are both natives from the United States, and we used the Temporary Residency entity, which was added to the marriage law in Argentina, there is still one more step to take care off. Tomorrow we have to present all the documentation at the local Cancilleria – Consulate, to have the Marriage License certified and apostilled. I will tell more on this last step as part of my 101 FAQ Gay Marriage in Argentina for foreigners experience log, tomorrow. In the meantime you can see my posts on Phase I and Phase II. Thank you Edwin and David for allowing me to be part of this important moment, and for trusting me to be your Wedding Planner. This is my 5th. wedding being planned globally and I am already booked for my 6th. Spreading love and equality around the globe. Phase II Gay Marriage Argentina completed | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Following our success on Phase I, this morning, very early we all came to one of the many public hospitals in the city of Buenos Aires, to have the blood tests and medical exams mandatory before being authorized to tie the knot, at least in Argentina. I must admit, without being snobbish or feeling that I am discriminating anyone with this comments, that it was a very raw and real experience. The City Hall and the marriage law dictates that you can ONLY have this exams done at a Public Hospital. When we got there, the first impression was a bit shocking, even to me… there were hundreds and hundreds of people. I would say, so far, the most confusing part of the whole Gay Wedding in Buenos Aires. That is why I decided to come along with the couple and guide them through. But as David & Edwin – Groom & Groom – described it, they were very happy to see this side of Buenos Aires too. So Phase II of my Gay Wedding Planning mission to Buenos Aires is complete, now moving on to our last step before official marriage. But today is Friday, the couple flew off to the Iguazu Falls, and I have decided to spend the entire weekend outside Buenos Aires exploring off the beaten track luxury stays, experiences and options to share with you all. Stay tuned and have a great weekend. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
