Sailing onboard Four Seasons Yacht

Sailing onboard Four Seasons Yacht   |  Riviera Nayarit, Mexico  |  What an amazing way to close my week stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita at Riviera Nayarit, Mexico that onboard the Four Seasons Yacht sailing along Bahia Banderas, all the way back again to the Marieta Islands, and then sunset dinner along Anclote Beach, back to the marina over a fabulous dinner by the Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Punta Mita. OH and the final touch, a school of Blottenose Dolphins following our yacht and jumping around like saying farewell, such a magical afternoon.

The Four Seasons Yacht is stunning. A luxurious 17-metre (55-foot) yacht for guests to charter privately on a daily basis. The spacious yacht features a living room and kitchen with dining table, a separate shaded relaxation area on the upper deck, and sunning areas on the bow, stern and rear upper deck. The ship also sports a Wave Runner for guests to ride when the yacht is anchored.

A private 10 guests group may charter the yacht for six hours during the day or for sunset. Each charter includes a catered assortment of snacks and drinks. Our private setting in Punta Mita – less than an hour from Puerto Vallarta – allows for an intimate journey that conveniently leaves from Marina La Cruz located 20 minutes from the Resort.

Charter options include snorkelling and diving along the pristine coast or cruises among the protected Marietta Islands, which boast a thriving bird and fish population; whale-watching during the months of December through March; and fishing in the bountiful waters of the Punta Mita area. Lounging on the yacht while soaking up the sun and breathtaking scenery is another popular option.

Without a doubt, the perfect way to close my visit to Punta Mita and Riviera Nayarit. Great new friends, Margaritas, MOET, food, music and the picture perfect sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. Hope you enjoy the photos, and next time you visit Four Seasons Punta Mita, have a try sailing the yacht, you will love it. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Wave Running in Saint Martin

Wave Running in Saint Martin  |  Baie Longue, Saint Martin  |  Today I arrived at the lovely island of Saint Martin, in the Caribbean. After Checking IN at my G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S posh private villa at La Samanna by Belmond, I was escorted by my butler to my private Cabana in the beach of Baie Longue. There I was presented with the plan for the day, which mainly was RELAXING wining and eating, but to my great surprise Wave Running was also in the menu,… I mean in the itinerary.  Continue reading Wave Running in Saint Martin

Hotel Check IN W Bangkok   | Bangkok, Thailand |  Set in the pulsating heart of Bangkok, surrounded by spicy street markets, vibrant nightlife, and top shops and restaurants. Last night we Checked IN at the stunning sexy and chic W Bangkok. I was not expecting much to be honest, since the hotel just opened four month ago, but I must say the this property has just jumped to my TOP 05 favorite properties in Bangkok. W Bangkok radiates with electric energy. It is sultry inspiring debauchery on its very own Thai style. We are being hosted at the W version of the Presidential Suite, which looks taken out of a premium Gucci store. We just love the style, design, and panoramic views of Bangkok.  Continue reading Hotel Check IN W Bangkok

24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards New York

24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards New York  |  New York, United States  |  So last night, both Rubin and I assisted to the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards gala dinner, which took place at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, honoring Anderson Cooper with special guests like Madonna.
For over 25 years, GLAAD has worked with news, entertainment and social media to bring culture-changing stories of LGBT people into millions of homes and workplaces every day. GLAAD amplifies the voice of our community to keep equality at the forefront of America’s cultural conversation. Their impact on newspapers, magazines, blogs, radio, television, movies and more transforms attitudes to bring about real change. (Photo above from left to right: Brett Milles – Town Real States, Rubin Singer – Fashion Designer and me Carlos Melia ).
Our table, hosted by Lauren Foster, one of the world’s most recognized transsexual women, having been one of the first to pose for Vogue Mexico in the 1980’s, consisted on old and new friends. We were only two tables away from Anderson Cooper’s table and on the second row to the stage, so we got to enjoy the gala in full. I had the great experience to be sat down next to reality Real Housewife of New York, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and her fiancé. Both were very charming, warm and friendly, I have to say.

But as we all know, the most important of the night, was to celebrate and honor those people and professionals in Media and their efforts and contribution towards LGBT Rights. This year the honoree was Anderson Cooper, American journalist, author, and television personality. He is the primary anchor of the CNN news show Anderson Cooper 360°. Madonna herself, was the one in charge to present the award. See all the videos taken by me last night.
Madonna referred to Anderson as: you have the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen, you are intelligent, but most important you are a “Bad ass mother Fucker”, inviting him to start a revolution together with her.
An emotive and inspiring night, that continued with a private after party at the TOP of The Standard Hotel (aka. Boom Boom Room, yes the same place where I celebrated my 39th Birthday this same week). So we all enjoyed some cocktails and the stunning views of the Big Apple on a clear night with a little bit of the last snow falls of this 2013 winter.
GLAAD Media Awards invite you to celebrate the most outstanding images of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in the media at the largest, most visible LGBT gala in the nation, the GLAAD Media Awards!. New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco with over 5,000 attendees, the GLAAD Media Awards bring celebrities, corporate partners, media professionals, and young adults together in support of GLAAD’s mission to amplify the voice of the LGBT community and achieve full equality! Get involved by visiting GLAAD.org
Lovely night, as I said, with old and new friends, but overall with the pride and feeling that we have supported and helped for a fantastic cause, one that has been my duty for many many years now, before as Mr Gay International, as a Gay Travel Agent and now as a Gay Travel and Lifestyle global reporter. As I always say, using the words by Aung San Suu Kyi …” use your freedom to promote others…”, and that is what both I and my partner Rubin Singer, both believe and cherish.
For the fashionistas out there, wondering who dressed me for the night, well of course no other than Rubin Singer, previewing his new collection of Bespoke Male Tuxedos. Special thanks too, to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and the Guerlain Spa for the treatments in preparation for this Gala Dinner. Stay tuned for more news on Rubin Singer’s Male collection at www.rubinsinger.com. Hope you have enjoyed my coverage of the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

GPS Carlos Melia from White BIG APPLE

GPS Carlos Melia from White BIG APPLE   |  New York, United States  |  I am back in New York City, and this morning we woke up to see a full white coated frosted Big Apple. One of the nicest views of Manhattan, till it stops and all becomes black and muddy. But hey beauty doesn’t last forever right, so enjoy it and share it before it fades away.

I have been for the last 3 days, since I arrived back from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Here for the next two weeks, prepping for my 39th Birthday next Tuesday, and then on the 20th of March, off to Thailand for 3 weeks. Life could not be better.

Hotel Check IN Club Frances Buenos Aires

Hotel Check IN Club Frances Buenos Aires  |  Buenos Aires, Argentina  |  Today I Checked IN for the next two nights at the Club FrancesBuenos Aires, in the neighborhood Recoleta, in Buenos Aires. During it’s more than 140 years of history, the Club has hosted personalities from politics, science, culture and sports world, always with an important presence and heritage of French origin. The hotel has 28 rooms, of with only two Deluxe Executive Suites like the one I am being hosted at.

It feels like old style traditional Argentina with true French heritage. The throw on my bed is Chinchilla, the furnitures are original, beautiful balcony, and a dry sauna in my bathroom. Suites on the front of the building have a very traditional and heavy French style, original French furnitures, wood floors, gold leaf wall plaques and heavy fabrics with prints. The back of the house is more modern in a contemporary Art Nouveau style.
The Club Frances itself, is the main building of the original house, which dates from 1866. On top of  the house, they have built a tower where most of the rooms are located. Stunning pieces of art, original wood work, marble fireplaces decorate with sophistication the club and the rooms.
The Hotel Club Francés Restaurant offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in a classic building full of history. Its setting is based on the restoration of antique furniture and works of art. The arrangement of the tables simulates a luxurious private dining room. Also on the second floor, the club has three rooms for events, with stunning chandeliers as the main protagonists.

I will be posting more comments and my full review on the hotel upon check out, after my two nights experience at Club Frances, during my stay in Buenos Aires. Stay tuned. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

ULTRA Electronic Party Buenos Aires 2013

ULTRA Electronic Party Buenos Aires 2013  |  Buenos Aires, Argentina  | So of course, last night, right off the door steps of my plane with LAN Airlines, my best friend Laurencio Adot calls me and gets me to the VIP Tent at this massive electronic party in Buenos Aires called ULTRA umf, happening last night and again this weekend. He was invited by PR Leo Matheu for the local magazine GENTE (aka. people version of Argetina) and Absolut Vodka.

Located at Puerto Madero, Dique I, featuring Swedish House Mafia’s Final Performances on both weekends, the return of Carl Cox & Friends and ASOT 600 to the Megastructure, and many more. The 15th Edition by far the most elaborate production and lineup to date!
Stayed with him chit chatting with models, producers, and celebrities in general for a few hours till the exhaustion from my flight plus the time difference cought on me. On top, I realized that I do not quite enjoy much this parties without my boyfriend anymore. But ALWAYS a treat to spend time with my BFF Laurencio, TOP couture fashion designer of South America.
