Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem

Church of the Holy SepulchreChurch of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem  |  Jerusalem, Israel  | I have just returned from a lovely week spent in Israel. This was my first visit to the Holy Land, and for sure it won’t be my last. So I will be blogging for the next few weeks almost exclusively on my experience. Jerusalem without any doubts, was one of the highlights of my journey, and The Church of the Holy Sepulchre (also known as Church of the Resurrection), a landmark that truly touched me and intrigued me. Was quite surreal to me to be there. Identified as the place both of the crucifixion and the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth. The church has long been a major pilgrimage center for Christians all around the world. Reason why I have chosen it as my first post on my week long journey of discovery.  Continue reading Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem

Castle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown by www.carlosmelia.comCastle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown  |  New York, United States |  Last Sunday, I left Manhattan for a relaxing one-night-getaway in full style, only 30 minutes. My castle for a night at Tarrytown, in Westchester, Hudson Valley. Yes you read right, there are castles in New York, where you can explore and stay at. A world-class destination for relaxing and romantic getaways with superb cuisine. Member of the Historic Hotels of America and the Small Luxury Hotels Collection. The castle was taken over three years ago by the Japanese group Sankara.  Continue reading Castle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown

Le Bristol Hotel Paris

Le Bristol Paris by Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator Le Bristol Hotel Paris  |  Paris, France  |  A few days ago while in Paris, researching for options for a very important client of mine, the name Le Bristol Hotel came before my eyes while walking along rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. Of course I knew about their existence, but honestly never paid attention to them, judging mainly by their exterior. Before contacting them, I asked around, and one dear friend told me …” it is a French cliche for American travelers…”. So I took the challenge and I did some research online. I was quite happily surprised, when I realized that I have met the sales team before at one of the international Luxury Travel events, and more so when I found out they are part of the Oetker Collection, hands down one of my favorite luxury hotel groups. Brand new Park Hyatt New York

Brand new Park Hyatt New York by www.carlosmeliablog.comBrand new Park Hyatt New York | New York, US | Today I was invited to visit the brand new Park Hyatt New York, followed by a casual and wonderful lunch at The Back Room ONE57 Restaurant, American Grill with a touch of French, all prepared by the expert hand of Executive Chef Sebastien Archambault. Park Hyatt New York is located in the heart of midtown at 153 West 57th street between Avenue of the Americas and Seventh Avenue, across from Carnegie Hall and a short stroll from Central Park. The hotel, designed by world-renowned, Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc, features 210 generously sized guest rooms including 92 suites, designed by Yabu Pushelberg. The state-of-the-art guest rooms are among the largest in the city, starting from 475 square feet or 44 square meters. Throughout the hotel, guests will experience an uncommon space offering sophistication and elegance. The hotel is located at New York’s tallest residential building, occupying ground floor to the 25th floor. Onwards is all private residences with services and amenities, signature of Park Hyatt. A full-service Spa Nalai, fitness center with partial views of the Central Park and a lovely indoor pool. Fully pet friendly. Seamless check in concept, right from the entrance to your room. On the third floor there is a Guest Services and Les Clefs d’Or Concierge desk. I LOVED:  Size of the rooms and bathrooms + the MiniBars which are like little jewel boxes full of surprises + the ballroom spaces for events + the balcony suites (specially the balconies) + the indoor pool + the fact that the building is fully WiFi Free of charge + being Pet Friendly Hotel w/ what I like to call VID – Very Important Dog treatment and amenities + the Beets Risotto I tried for lunch at The Back Room ONE57 + the Bar. I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE: Being such a high-rise building, I was expecting to have breathtaking 360 degrees and panoramic views of Manhattan and most particularly of the Central Park, from the public areas and most specially from the rooms and suites. But unfortunately only those at the private residences get to enjoy that part, not if you are staying at the hotel. New York needed its very own Park Hyatt property, here you have it. Book with me and enjoy the following VIP Amenities: Full Breakfast for each Guest Daily at The Back Room at One57. Also available with Room Service + $100 Hotel Credit, per Room, per Stay. Plus the following amenities subject to availability at the time of check-in/departure: Upgrade + Early Check-In + Late Check-Out. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com

Le Restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

L'Restaurant Paris by www.carlosmeliablog.comLe Restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Pres  |  Paris, France  | Last week while in Paris, I was invited to dinner at Le Resturant, in the Left Bank, and nothing is more tempting to me while in Paris, than Saint Germain de Pres. Le Restaurant is located at the main floor of one of the most famous hotels in Paris. L’Hotel has been a secret hideaway over the past two centuries. With quintessential French charm and glamour, L’Hotel is nestled in the heart of the Left Bank, amidst the cultural riches, bohemian soul and high fashion of St Germain-des-Prés. Oscar Wilde’s last home, and the heart of Parisian society in the swinging sixties, it has been remodelled by renowned designer Jacques Garcia. It is one of the original Hip Hotels and is home to the acclaimed one Michelin star Le Restaurant.  Continue reading Le Restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc

My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc by www.carlosmeliablog.com

My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc  |  Cancun, Mexico  |  Here some images of my luxury weekend at NIZUC Resort & Spa, hosted by LGTNetwork. This was my second time at this resort and spa, located at the private area of Punta Nizuc, a complete different experience to Cancun. Located only fifteen minutes away from Cancun International Airport. This time I was hosted at one of their lovely Penthouse Suites, located at the Residences Towers. Some of the great activities during my three days visit were, 5-Steps Mexican imbued gourmet dinner at the Chef’s Table at RAMONA Restaurant. Paddle-Boarding along the coast of Punta Nizuc and the mangroves. Paddle board yoga, over the green crystal waters of Nizuc Bay. Spa treatments and hydrotherapy cycle at their spa by ESPA. Cocktails and starters at Terra Nostra Restaurant, follow by a full dinner at Indochine, including options from all corners of Asia. Fantastic Peruvian lunch, with gorgeous beach views at Ni Restaurant. Private party hosted by Cartier to launch their arrival of the new collections to Mexico. And many many more. You can read one of the article that has already surface by one of my fellow travelers, joining our group @ A luxury Mexican resort designed with LGBT travelers in mind by Cameron Lee. Thank you to all the team at NIZUC Resort & Spa, and to LGTNetwork – Luxury Gay Travel Network.  Continue reading My luxury weekend in Punta Nizuc
