96 Hours in Peru covering as much territory as possible  |  Peru  | A few weeks back, invited by LATAM Airlines Business Class, Belmond Journeys and Hotels Peru, Rubin and I decided to come for 3 nights / 4 days – ha ha ha yes you read right 96 hours, to explore to main higlights of the marvelous country and intriguing culture. This wasn’t my first time in Peru – for work or leisure – I have been many times, but indeed was Rubin‘s first visit, and I mastered a well curated itinerary, that would take us from Lima, to Cusco, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley, in a natural flow enjoying the services of all our hosts… Well, unfortunately not all came along as planned. For more photos and videos on my journey in Peru, visit my Instagram Photo Gallery of Peru.

My private pre-opening viewing of the Ritz Paris

Ritz Paris Place VendomeMy private pre-opening viewing of the Ritz Paris  | Paris, France  | Today, I was among one of the few lucky chosen ones, to enjoyed a private pre-opening behind-construction walk-around of the iconic Ritz Paris, schedule to re-open next March 2016. I was introduced to the lovely mock up suites, the traditional and brand new restaurants and bars, the new inner garden, the exclusive and unique Chanel Spa and much more…, by the hand of Monsieur Manfred Mautsch, who has been with the hotel now for over 20 years and gone through two renovations…

Lunch at St Ouen Coffee at Jardins du Ruisseau and Dinner in Trocadero

Lunch at St Ouen Coffee at Jardins du Ruisseau and Dinner in Trocadero | Paris, France | Yesterday, being a Sunday, I’ve decided to have a very local day. My morning began working at RUBINSINGER’s Showroon in Trocadero and from there after our morning appointments, I went to one of my favorite spots in Paris, the Marche Vernaison‬ in St Ouen. Where I enjoyed a kitsch French lunch at my classic chez Louisette. This place always makes me so happy. After that I spend my early afternoon walking around the market, Antique browsing and shopping.  Continue reading Lunch at St Ouen Coffee at Jardins du Ruisseau and Dinner in Trocadero

VIP Gala Dinner 45 minutes out of Paris curated by Carlos Melia

FullSizeRender 4VIP Gala Dinner 45 minutes out of Paris curated by Carlos Melia  |  Paris, France | One of the many services I offer to my clients worldwide, is producing event and weddings. Here an example of the last event I hosted 45 minutes outside of Paris, to end our VIP French Open Roland Garros Week to a very select group of executives. The Gala took place at a lovely Chateau, located in the district of Bouffemont, which we privatized fully. Sunset cocktails at the outdoor terrace, gala dinner indoors with live performances and band, which included among others, an impersonator of Edith Piaf. A lovely soiree and the perfect curated end to their trip. Here other experiences I also created for this same group: Sunset sailing and dinning along the Seine River. Private off-hours visit to the tower of Notre Dame. Guy Savoy Restaurant at La Monnaie de Paris. Private visit to Louis XV and XVI’s Apartment, Behind-the-Scences tour of the Eiffel Tower… among many others. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com

Private sailing and dining in Paris along the Seine River

Private sailing and dining in Paris along the Seine RiverPrivate sailing and dining in Paris along the Seine River  |   ParisFrance | One of the experiences that I curated and hosted for my recent VIP Group to Paris for the Roland Garros French Open event, was a private sunset sailing along the Seine River, which included an outdoor cocktail, followed by a 3-Courses Gourmet dinner by Lenôtre. We were picked up at our hotels Le Bristol, and driven for 10 minutes to their Terminal/Lounge to board our private boat, the ACTE III. Not much more to say, so I will let you enjoy the photos and judge by them. All I can add, is that our sailing was supposed to end by 10PM, and guests were enjoying their time so much, that we decided to extend for another 2 hours to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle right from the heart of the Seine River. This was not my first time doing a Private Sailing in Paris along the Seine River. I have done it a few times before, but on a smaller scale and more private. See my post on Private Champagne Sunset RIVA Sailing along the Seine River. BTW Post today July 14th 2015 in honor of Bastille Day. HAPPY Bastille Day. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com

Guy Savoy at La Monnaie de Paris

Guy Savoy at La Monnaie de ParisGuy Savoy at La Monnaie de Paris  |   ParisFrance  |  It might as well be the hottest restaurant and gourmet experience to have in Paris as of today. Everyone is talking about it, but unfortunately, not many like me, have yet had the pleasure to try it. Reasons why ? Well Guy Savoy at La Monnaie de Paris, has opened its doors only a month ago, and since then, carrying with his prestigious reputation and its 3-Michelin Stars, has been sold out and it will be for several month ahead. Not for nothing online bookings have a penalty fee of EUR 300 per person for reservations granted and not honored or for cancellations within 24 hours prior to your dinning experience.  Continue reading Guy Savoy at La Monnaie de Paris

Le Bristol Hotel Paris

Le Bristol Paris by Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator Le Bristol Hotel Paris  |  Paris, France  |  A few days ago while in Paris, researching for options for a very important client of mine, the name Le Bristol Hotel came before my eyes while walking along rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. Of course I knew about their existence, but honestly never paid attention to them, judging mainly by their exterior. Before contacting them, I asked around, and one dear friend told me …” it is a French cliche for American travelers…”. So I took the challenge and I did some research online. I was quite happily surprised, when I realized that I have met the sales team before at one of the international Luxury Travel events, and more so when I found out they are part of the Oetker Collection, hands down one of my favorite luxury hotel groups. Le Restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

L'Restaurant Paris by www.carlosmeliablog.comLe Restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Pres  |  Paris, France  | Last week while in Paris, I was invited to dinner at Le Resturant, in the Left Bank, and nothing is more tempting to me while in Paris, than Saint Germain de Pres. Le Restaurant is located at the main floor of one of the most famous hotels in Paris. L’Hotel has been a secret hideaway over the past two centuries. With quintessential French charm and glamour, L’Hotel is nestled in the heart of the Left Bank, amidst the cultural riches, bohemian soul and high fashion of St Germain-des-Prés. Oscar Wilde’s last home, and the heart of Parisian society in the swinging sixties, it has been remodelled by renowned designer Jacques Garcia. It is one of the original Hip Hotels and is home to the acclaimed one Michelin star Le Restaurant.  Continue reading Le Restaurant in Saint-Germain-des-Pres
