My 07 days in India portrayed by 30 Postcards Project

My 07 days in India by portrayed by 30 Postcards Project  |  India  |  Great video by friend and colleague Kevin Richberg on his project 30 Postcards around the world. This time of our trip together to the north of India. You can see me in a few scenes, specially the one being harassed by the street vendors ” Hawkers “, just look at my face priceless. After a week of travel, I was kind of OVER them. Great work Kevin. Cheers CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends

Going Royal in India with Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil

Going Royal in India with Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil  |  New Delhi, India  |  A few days ago in New Delhi, during the 1st. Asia Gay and Lesbian Travel Symposium, I have the honor and pleasure to meet and spend sometime chatting with Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, a true example of life, courage and royalty. His parents attempted to disinherit him after he revealed his homosexuality, and since then his relations with the family have been in question. He is the only known member of the royal lineage in modern India to have publicly revealed he is gay. He shared with me his experiences and also the cause that takes nowadays most of his time  Lakshya Trust, where he is the Chairman of this organization, which primarily works on various issues addressing and advocating the social, economical, legal, psychological, spiritual and health aspects of sexual minorities (Gay, Bisexual and Transgender population) in the western Indian state of Gujarat. He also manages a Heritage hospitality project at his Pink Palace, with 35 rooms, to which I have been officially invited on my next visit to India, to experience true Indian royalty. Meeting Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil and learning about his struggles and life experiences have made me, once again, confirm that our cause if fully worth it. India, stand Proud and Loud. CM

GPS Carlos Melia on my way to Varanasi the Holy City

GPS Carlos Melia on my way to Varanasi the Holy City  |  New Delhi, India  |  Good Morning everyone from fantastic New Delhi. Getting ready to head off to the airport to take my flight to Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh. One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and probably the oldest in India. Varanasi is the city were Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon. Now the question is should I get in and dip deep into the holy waters of the Ganges or not ? to follow the traditions. CM
