Ballet at the Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg
Ballet at the Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg | St Petersburg, Russia | Last week I came to see a live magnificent ballet performance of Don Quijote at the Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg. A three acts (almost 3 hours and 30 minutes) performance, that matched without a glitch the beauty of this theater by leading ballet company the Mariinsky Ballet.
The Mariinsky Theater was named after Empress Maria Alexandrovna, wife of Tsar Alexander II. Opened in 1860, it became the preeminent music theatre of late 19th century Russia
The Mariinsky Ballet, known as the Imperial Russian Ballet, is also well known internationally as the by it past Soviet name, the Kirov Ballet.
Without a doubt a must see and do during your visit to St Petersburg. The most beautiful theater and ballet/opera house in St Petersburg, said by many locals. You may check upcoming performances and book tickets online at www.mariinsky.ru. Enjoy the show. !!!! CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
