Explore the region by local canoe, set out on a game drive or roam on foot. One of the three Orient Express Camps I visited during my trip across Botswana and Souther Africa. One of the most romantic bars in the world, accommodation you would expect of a luxury safari experience, and air/river Safaris that will take your breath away.

I would say that one of the highlights of my trip around Botswana, has been the helicopter ride provided at Eagle Island Camp by Orient Express in Okavango Delta, Botswana. Stunning views of one of the last on growing deltas in the world, crystal clear waters, aerial views of hippopotamus and elephants on their own environment and the full adrenaline to be flying on an open doors helicopter in the middle of the Southern African wetland.

And this is how you wait to your flight in Botswana | Okavango Delta, Botswana | Your attention please, ladies and gents, giraffes and elephants, your 3-seater small private plane by Mac Air is about to land. After a few minutes and brief safety speech, if lions sleeping on the runway permit, we will take off from Okavango Delta to your next destination in Savuti at Chobe National Park. Mind the dust and the heat, and stay alert from the lions, hyenas and hippopotamus. Believe it or not, the white path that you see behind our Land Rover, … that is the runway.

Finally I saw the Baobab Tree in Botswana | Okavango Delta, Botswana | Finally I have seen the BAOBAB Tree. Yes the same I used to read about when I was a child ” The Little Prince ” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This happened during our Helicopter ride by Orient Express at the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The Baobab Tree is also known as the tree of life, with good reason too. It is capable of providing shelter, food and water for the animal and human inhabitants of the African Savannah regions.

Young male Lion at Khwai River in Botswana | Kwhai River, Botswana | yes ladies and gentleman, today we officially can say that we’ve seen all animals one would expect to see coming to Africa. Well been 100% honest, we are still missing the Cheetah, but hey still 10 more days to come. Anyhow today during our afternoon safari at Khwai River Lodge by Orient Express, we have the honor and pleasure to enjoy the company for over 30 minutes, of a young male lion.

Private flight from Chobe to Khwai River Lodge | Khwai River, Botswana | This morning, after our 6.30AM Game Safari Drive and breakfast at the Chobe Game Lodge, in Chobe Botswana, we headed to the Kasane Airport to take our private flight by Orient Express Hotels, from Chobe to Khwai River Lodge. Let me tell you, it was a 4-seater small plane and was quite an interesting/scary experience, even for me that I grew up in a pilots family.

Welcome to the Republic of Botswana | Chobe, Botswana | Good Morning Everyone. This morning we transferred by land and river from Livingstone, Zambia to Chobe in Botswana, our destination for the next 5 days. A short 2 hours drive/sail, to cross the border at Kazunguta point. A whole experience mingling in line with the locals and only a few adventurous tourists.
