My week in the Cote d’Azur – French Riviera attending ILTM Cannes 2017

My week in the Cote d’Azur – French Riviera attending ILTM Cannes 2017  |  ILTM – International Luxury Travel Market | As every year, December is my time in the French Riviera, taking part either as hosted VIP Media or Buyer, to ITLM Cannes. This is the best luxury travel event to network with other luxury travel colleagues and international suppliers. This is my week in the Cote d’Azur – French Riviera attending ITLM Cannes 2017. For more tips and recommendations, see all my minute-to-minute past/current/future post and experiences on ILTM Cannes 2017.

I always start my week, with an overnight stay and gala welcome dinner in Nice at Le Negresco Hotel. This is one of the highlights of my week attending ILTM Cannes. This is my fifth stay at this Grande Dame of Nice,

This year, I was welcomed at their new Grafitti Suite. The only one in the entire hotel. Eclectic style, embracing the street art of Nice into Le Negresco format, painted over panels of silk.

Was time for me to get ready for my evening in Nice, after over 15 hours flying from New York to the French Riviera, with a connection and morning in Madrid.

The grand ballroom at Le Negresco is always impressive, but mostly when you see it decorated with Christmas ornaments and tree, it warms your heart.

As every year, we were hosted for an Opening Gala Dinner at Two Michelin star restaurant Le Chantecler. Here you can read on my same experience in at Le Chantecler in 2016.

Early morning in Nice, with a long and exciting first day attending ILTM Cannes 2017.

Of course no visit to Le Negresco Hotel is complete without breakfast at the iconic Rotonde Restaurant. a décor filled with vibrant colors, an 18th century carousel and its wooden horses make La Rotonde a very unexpected place.

We were driven fro Nice to Cannes ( 30 minutes approx. ) . Early in the morning, with enough time to check in at my hotel in Cannes an on to the start of my week attending ILTM Cannes 2017.

This time I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel, Five Seas Hotel by Design Hotels, only two blocks away from the Croisette and the Palais des Congress. Usually I am not a huge fan of hotels in Cannes, but this time I was beyond please with my pied-à-terre for the week. A true hidden gem.

As I check in into my hotel, I dropped my luggage and I was picked up by the team at La Reserve Hotels to be transferred by helicopter, to Ramatuelle, for a day exploring their property La Reserve Ramatuelle Hotel-Spa & Villas.

Only 25 minutes flight from Cannes, we were in Ramatuelle ready to land and start our day hosted by La Reserve Ramatuelle Hotel-Spa & Villas. Ramatuelle is a commune in the department in the Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France. It lies near St-Tropez.

La Reserve Ramatuelle Hotel-Spa & Villas‘s, nestled among fragrant lavender and pine trees, the sleek lines of the hotel frame the views of the horizon-ending sea. Savor time at your own pace in an oasis of calm and beauty while being pampered by a dedicated staff. All rooms and suites are extended by a large terrace overlooking the gardens and turquoise waters.

Cocktails, networking and reconnecting with dear colleagues in the International Travel Travels and Media. This is the spirit of ILTM Events.

After a lovely day in Ramatuelle, was time to fly back to Cannes, and get ready for my evening and next event.

This evening was hosted by Relais & Chateaux Hotels, at the very lovely 2 Michelin star Villa Archangel. Located 15 minutes away from the hustle and bustle from La Croisette, in Le Canet. An 18th Century Provencal villa, masterfully refurbished and tastefully decorated.

After dinner, the place to be and meet everyone is at the Bar Fouquet’s at Le Majestic Hotel. So we did, over Dirty Vodka Martinis. The networking during ILTM Cannes, happens during the show, but very much as well after hours.

The week began, and was time to get on with ILTM Cannes edition 2017. By invitation only leading luxury travel event, where the world meets the world! After my time attending ILTM Cannes 2017, it was time to carry on to my next destinations. First stop was Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild in Cap Ferrat for a day hosted by Raffles Hotels and Accor Hotels. After that an overnight in Monaco and Monte Carlo. But more ahead, was a full week hosted by Relais Chateaux, exploring Santiago de Compostela and PortugalCarlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
