My experience on ETIHAD Airways Business Class JFK/AUH/BKK rt

My experience on ETIHAD Airways Business Class JFK/AUH/BKK rt |Abu Dhabi, UAE | Photo gallery of my last flight with ETIHAD Airways to/from Bangkok, Thailand. For the last three years, I have chosen ETIHAD – the national airline or the United Araba Emirates, as my official airline, when flying from the United States, to any point in the Middle East or Asia. And I cannot wait for the upcoming arrival of their brand new Airbus 380, starting next November 23rd, 2015 fron JFK to Abu Dhabi and connections, featuring their new Business Class configuration and the First Class Studio, First Class Apartments and the Residence, the best product on the air today, after a private jet experience. For more insight on my Abu Dhabi experience check out my Instagram Photo Gallery on my recent visit.
Great onboard service, super comforatble full bed Business Class seats ( whith three full windows, which I truly appreciate ), flight long food & beverage service at your own time choice, fantastic entertaiment system and a great lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport. If you like to be connected, all ETIHAD Airways flights offer WiFI and Mobile Phone connection during their entire routes. As well LIVE TV streaming from channels like CNN, BBC, Euronews, CNBC among others. Also Etihad Airways First Class and Business Class* guests can enjoy personal chauffeur services at more than 40 cities across our network.

Abu Dhabi International Airport though, I must admit,  it is not one of my favorite airports in the world, currently it is pretty basic. But that will soon change, since it is undergoing constructions and expansion, so looking forward to see what will come next. But if you are flying Business, First or Residences, then you will not even notice that…  since you can enjoy their fantastic lounges featuring Six Senses Spas.

One thing that I do appreciate about Abu Dhabi’s airport, is that on your way back to the United States, customs and immigrations is cleared there, right before boarding. The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility at Terminal 3 in Abu Dhabi Airport is a purpose-built facility that allows U.S. bound passengers to undertake all immigration, customs and agriculture inspections in Abu Dhabi prior to departure. Abu Dhabi Airport is one of only a handful of airports outside North America that offer the CBP facility. This will save you time, and once in the United States, you just need to collect your luggage at the Domestc arrival terminal, and go home… Simple as that. And we all know, how long lines can get at immigrations at JFK.When flying on any of their Premium Classes, you will get upon arrival to most destinations, a FAST TRACK immigrations card. This is literally like liquid gold, for travelers like me, that spend half of our lives in Airports. Specially in destinations like Bangkok, where the lines can take for ever. In my case upon arrival to Suvarnabhumi Airport, I seamlessly walked by the Immigration’s Premium Line and in five minutes I was getting my luggage – which of course was tagged as priority, and heading to my hotel to began my holidays with no hustle nor delays.
Yes my connection in Abu Dhabi was long, 8 hours in total. Since my New York flight arrived at 12 noon and my next flight onwards to Bangkok was departing at 8PM. My options where, stay and enjoy the Business Class lounge, or since I have never been to Abu Dhabi, go an explore the destination. And so I did. My luggage was checked in all the way through, so I went through immigrations making use of my Fast Track Card, and in 10 minutes, I was outside, meeting my Arabian Adventures driver and guide and off to explore Abu Dhabi. I had an AMAZING day, which began exploring the marvelous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, followed by a drive around the open air Heritage Village, the corniche, and the Emirates Palace. I took a day use at the very lovely Rosewood Hotel Abu Dhabi, were I unwind. freshened up and relaxed, followed by a great Lebanese lunch, before heading back to the airport to continue my journey to Bangkok.

This is a video I did two years ago, on their First Class service of their 777 Boeing configuration, on my first flight with them from New York to Bangkok, approximately 3 years ago.
