Las Alcobas Boutique Hotel | Mexico City, Mexico | During my recent visit to Mexico City. my first three days, I was hosted at the very quaint and homy Las Alcobas Boutique Hotel, located at the one of the most exclusive and trendy districts, Polanco and along Avenue Presidente Masaryk, surrounded by fashion brands and restaurants, with easy access to Reforma, Condesa, Roma and Zocalo. Las Alcobas well carries the concept of ” Your Home away from Home “. Luxury service and state of art amenities in a warm and friendly setting. In homage to their name Alcobas, a former residence, has been ingeniously crafted into a series of private home-away-from-homes alcoves.
Two and three bedroom suites and penthouses featuring wraparound terraces overlooking the city. 35 spacious guest rooms with custom designed furnishings and the finest bedroom linens. State of the art technology in every room. In room spa facilities, including rain showers and jacuzzi. Suites and penthouse also include personal steam room
I was welcomed and hosted at one of their rooftop Suites, the Presidente Masaryk Garden Suite. Gracefully combining a space for entertaining and relaxing. The master bedroom includes a full marble spa bathroom, complete with rain showers and steam. An adjacent separate living room provides more space, and features a 46” LCD Aquos TV by Sharp with its own home theatre system by Bose, as well as a separate powder room. The suite is surrounded by a large terrace that includes a garden to create a sense of tranquility and privacy.
Breakfast each morning, is served at their exclusive restaurant ANATOL. Connected to the hotel, this 80 seat , two floor, contemporary space has two private dining rooms and a view on the famous Presidente Masayrk street. Celebrated Chef Justin Ermini assembles a fabulous epicurean experience with thoughtfully sourced farm to table ingredients to produce a seasonal menu with fresh and flavorful classic dishes. You may opt for a continental breakfasts, a la carte or like me, traditional Mexican. I am a huge fan of Chilaquiles, and that is what I had every single morning of my stay in Mexico City. Green sauce Chicken Chilaquiles. The explosion of flavor intensified by the taste of coffee, just makes up for your early morning. I would spend at least an hour each morning, reading my Louis Vuitton Guide of Mexico City, and talking to their Les Clefs d’Or Concierge.
Las Alcobas spa, AURORA Spa, a rather small but fully equipped urban spa, features treatment blending rich history and culture of Mexico with the highest levels of service and refinement. I tried myself a 90 minutes experience, including a signature Full-Body walnut and almond scrub with avocado body-wrap. And an after massage. Extremely relaxing and nourishing treatment, very welcomed after a Full Day Exploring the Historic District of Mexico City.
At Las Alcobas you will be able to experience two upscale gourmet restaurants with very different and complementary concepts. Las Alcobas approach to dining encompass sophistication to create the perfect balance between the taste and freshest ingredients, flavors, presentation and superb service. I was invited to try both, joining for dinner. ANATOL (where breakfast is served every morning) and Dulce Patria by renown Mexican chef Martha Ortiz. But this second is for another post. As for ANATOL, a seasonal, consciously sourced ingredient driven restaurant. The menu consists of composed small plates, presented in a social and casual environment. Renowned Chef Justin Ermini has assembled a menu giving a laid back, food driven dining experience. Great dishes with a touch of Italian influence are served in contemporary and fresh environment.
