Nikki Harrison Speakeasy | Buenos Aires, Argentina | I think tonight, I might have found the best kept secret of Buenos Aires. Speakeasy, honoring the concept behind the door of this quaint New York style Sushi restaurant over Malabia Street in Palermo SOHO. Speakeasy is a word, foreign to Argentina in many ways. But, it has been very well interpreted by Andres, the young owner, of this try to be, quasi exclusive membership club.
The experience goes like this, and listen carefully because this are the only ways to access to Nikki Harrison Speakeasy. Option one, dine at Nicky New York Sushi and if you are cool enough you will be invited to join. Option two, become a member by purchasing your guaranteed way into the club. Option three, like me, know the right people in town. (Thank you Hope by Les Clefs d’Or Argentina at the Alvear Palace Hotel). Mind the option, you will all end at the same tiny cellar, with no other way out other than the one you used to walk in. From there on… Well that would be ruining your own experience, and we don’t want that, right.? That if you indeed managed to even get there.
Great Bottled Negroni, expected average to terrible Dirty Vodka Martini. Cool ambiance, loved the background music. Mixed crowd, from those who should be there and not. Of course some cliches that perhaps for me, almost a New Yorker now, could have been avoided. But overall Nikki Harrison Speakeasy is an interesting option while in Buenos Aires. Might be, still, the best kept secret in town, perhaps not the best bar in town. But I bet by far superior in concept and final experience than any of the other speakeasies in town. Now drink that you never now when the police will show up. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
