Hotel Check IN at MUKUL Resort Nicaragua

Hotel Check IN at MUKUL Resort Nicaragua  |  Guacalito de la Isla, Nicaragua  |   Yesterday I arrived to Nicaragua in Central America, invited and hosted by the brand new luxury resort and spa, MUKUL Resort, located in the south of Nicaragua on the Pacific, almost on the border with Costa Rica. A project conceived by Nica entrepreneurs and operated by local people. We flew from New York to Salvador (4 hours 30 minutes) , connected flights to Nicaragua (40 minutes), and once in Managua, took a private transfer to the resort ( 2 hours ).
MUKUL means secret, and this is how this paradise has been kept unknown until now. Listed as one of the top destinations to be explored in 2013 by the New York Times Travel, Nicaragua is welcoming tourists from around the world, with open arms and warm smiles, offering their own local interpretation of refined sustainable native luxury.

This is the video of my Suite, or how they call it Bohio. Located on the highest point of the property, featuring stunning panoramic views of the Mansanillo Beach and Bay, either from your private terrace and/or plunge pool. Nestled like tree houses in the lush rainforest canopy, these 621 square-foot houses offer solace, privacy and luxury while remaining uniquely Nicaraguan. Built of sustainable native teak and pine, each of the 23 Bohios feature floor-to-ceiling glass perfectly framing the sapphire sea below. A sliding glass door leads onto a sweeping wooden deck with a private plunge pool and separate lounging veranda with custom daybed. The spacious bathroom is surfaced in Nicaraguan travertine marble and includes a wet room, double vanity, spacious walk-in closet and double-headed shower. The furniture, fabrics and lighting fixtures also lend to the authentic feel of a posh sanctuary handcrafted in a refined local style.
Sustainability, preservation, community, education and Nica pride are the pillars and main foundations of this project, which consists, phase one, on a luxury resort, a spa, an 18 holes golf course, and state-of-the-art residences.
Travel is all about experiences, and MUKUL Resort wants to base your visit to Nicaragua on them. I will be here until next Monday, and we have lots of activities and tours planned for our stay. But today I was fortunate to be part of an incredible event, right off the beachfront of the resort. Green Sea Turtles nesting at Mansanillo Beach up close and personal. To my own believes, the kind of luxury you cannot put a price on.

Relaxation, heavenly beaches, lush tropical forests and local camaraderie are just a few of the words to define the secret of MUKUL. Yes they are still on soft opening, and will be, till the beginning of February. It will take time for them to settle and be comfortable on their own skin, but behind every obstacle, there is a smile and the will to learn to provide with personalized service and a true native experience, in the end, that is what hospitality is all about. The kind of luxury that talks about life experiences, and empathy with traditions and environment. More to come upon check out. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator –
