Grand Cafe Restaurant

Grand Cafe Restaurant  |  St Tropez, France  |  Located at the Hotel Saint Lamour la Tartane, this Asian Restaurant with dishes inspired in Thailand and Japan has a nice atmosphere and the final product is very good. I love my Tom Yong, and I must say they made it very well with fresh prawns from the Golf of St Tropez.
The ambiance is very nice, low lights and a center chandelier take over the room. To enter you will go through the bar area. I felt that the service was rather informal, and my waiter in particular was a bit patronizing, trying to explain me or make a point why they only offer one choice of White Wine by the Glass. Excuse me…. Asian Restaurant with huge Thai influence and you only offer Chardonnay? Quick note for you, how about a good Chenin, the best appariement Monsieur.
Great Tom Yong above, as I said with enormous fresh tasteful prawns aux French Riviera. (photo above) As my main course I went for the Tuna Tataki with steam vegetables over coriander and ginger. Nothing better in my own personal gastronomy choices than to have the combined flavors of this two. Food wise I give then and 8 out of 10. Presentation wise, well I think they’ve got a bit lazy, and take advantage of the low lights concept.
Another point was that I ordered my classic Filthy Vodka Martini, as you know I always do, but it was not possible, since they had ran out of olives and olive juice. Anyhow, Bon Appettt. !!! CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
