Bistrot On The Square by Eccleston Square Hotel London | London, England | Last night I, I was so tired after my busy exciting week in Istanbul, that I crawled out of my amazing bed at the lovely chic and HIGH Tech Eccleston Square Hotel in London, and came downstairs to have dinner that the restaurant of the hotel. Bistrot On The Square is a chic petite restaurant with no more than six tables in a very intimate sophisticated environment. One of those gems in London that you find, where design, class and intimacy meet in perfect synchro. Yes yes, I started up and finished, of course, with my classic Dirty Vodka Martini (Grey Goose) signature of a Carlos Melia dinner. Positioned on the ground floor Eccleston Square Hotel‘s restaurant, Bistrot on the Square provides authentic, high quality and affordable French Bistrot dining in a relaxed and informal environment. Menus go from 19 to 25 Pounds per person, quite a deal for London on a restaurant of this characteristics.
Located in the area of Pimlico, overlooking the Eccleston Square, the restaurant is decorated in muted greys, white and black; with a striking feature fireplace, theatrical crystal chandeliers and contemporary leather and wood-panelled walls.
My choices for the night were on 3-courses: (Starer) Riversdale farm oak smoked chicken Ceasar Salad (Main Course) Indochine style seared yellow fin tuna in sesame crust, Asian slaw, sweet ginger and lime dressing.
(Dessert) Cheese Platter. All accompanied by Domaine La Coste, Provence white wine and mint tea at the end.
I personally liked the atmosphere, the salon, deco and overall the food. The restaurant is quite new and I feel they are still looking for their own personality and groove, but on the right track and I will give it a try again an again, becoming a regular if I were in London. Great quality for the value, set in an intimate, sophisticated and romantic atmosphere. I think they should work on the lighting concept, speed on the service and final experience…. but on the right track indeed. CM @ Carlos Melia Recommends
