Sunday seasonal Brunch at Park Avenue

Sunday seasonal Brunch at Park Avenue  |  New York, US  |  For another 25 days, you can call this restaurant Park Avenue Winter, but then you will have to return for Spring and so forth. Aside from being a great restaurant with superb service, it hosts a great concept, where not only the menu and wine list, but the whole decoration of the restaurant changes with the season. Recognized by the New York Times and New York Observer as one of the best new restaurants, Park Avenue Winter has returned to the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Design team led in part to Captain James Cook‘s explorative travels as a loose design reference. They looked at the regions he had visited in each of his major expeditions as a way of framing each season. Park Avenue Winter includes a refined interpretation of the season, adding details such as lacquered panel moldings, coffers with mismatched plaster rosettes, vintage British military buttons and custom crystal and glass chandeliers. All of the polished architectural elements blend with more rustic items, such as elongated birch branches built into the lighting elements, raw leathers and white-washed woods. Winter pays homage in part to Cook’s travels in the Antarctic Circle, combined with a classic drawing room aesthetic.
I came today, Sunday, for the renown Brunch. Great value Fix-Prixe Menu of USD 35 for pastries + appetizers + main. Formal, but not to formal. My choices for Brunch were Thai Chicken & Lime Soup, Coconut-Chicken Dumplings (above) and Breakfast Risotto (below).
Located on the Upper East Side on 63rd Street and Park Avenue. For more information Try it and let me know. CM
