GPS Carlos Melia at Le Sereno Hotel Saint Barthelemy | St. Barth, West French Indies, Caribbean | So this morning I left freezing New York City and arrived on the early afternoon to this idilyc French Caribbean island of St. Barth or Saint Barthelemy. I will be speding here the next 3 nights, hosted by Le Sereno Hotel and MJL Select Hotels. Only 40 minutes flight from San Juan of Puerto Rico and 4 hours and 30 minutes from New York City. The perfect week or weekend winter gateaway. The easiest way to enjoy the best of both worlds, the class – style – service and cuisine of France, matched and combined with the flavor – sexyness and warmness of the Caribbean. I must admint, to be true to mysled and those who have heard me over and over the years, I have never been a huge fan of the Caribbean, but in all fairness I must admit that the West French Indies, have left me spechless. Nevertheless, still 3 more exciting days ahead to pronounce my final veredict.
This was the landing at St. Barth airport on my Semi Private Turbo Jet by Tradewing Aviation. From what I have researched, in terms of price, schedule and weight allowance, you will be much better off flying to Puerto Rico and onwards to St. Barth, than making a stop over in St. Martin. Great friendly professional service. Right on time.
Video of my Pool Villa at the charming Le Sereno Hotel, at Grand Clu de Sacs. Only 25 minutes from the international airport and the urban district of Gustavia. I haven’t had much time today to explore the hotel in full or the island, but tomorrow I will get on it and promise to have more to share with you all. BTW did you know that Saint Barthelemy was the name given to the island by Christopher Colombus in his second voyage in 1493 in honor to his brother Bartolomeo.
BTW I had an AMAZING dinner over the water at Les Restaurant des Pecheurs with fresh locad fish of the day, lobster and sea food. But that is worth a separate post. Off to bed. Lots to explore tomorrow. CM
