Tango Porteño Dinner Show Buenos Aires

Tango Porteño Dinner Show Buenos Aires  |  Buenos Aires, Argentina  |  The former Cine Metro, was originally the Metro-Goldwing-Mayer MGM owned movie theater in Buenos Aires, which became famous for being the first of its kind in Argentina to have female-only hosts. Today this luxurious setting embodiment of refined ambience stages this great example of Argentinean passion for the golden ages of Buenos Aires, Tango Porteño Dinner Show. Travel in time to the age of the forties, which is unquestionably known as the reign of the tango.

I will let the images and videos speak by themselves. I must say that I truly enjoyed the show. Fantastic dancers, including the special appearance of Juan Carlos Copes, a true icon who contributed to worldwide revival of tango as a dance form after 1970. The meticulous scenery and costumes create the ultimate framework to transport you to that enchanting time when Buenos Aires was all about Tango.

There are two option, Dinner/Show or only Show. I went for the full package, which includes a 3 steps menu with local Argentinean classics, and open bar with a great selection of local Sparkling and non-Sparkling wines. you can see my choices below. My only suggestions is that dinner calls at 8.30PM but the show starts around 10.15PM, so bare that in mind and plan your timing according to that. To me in particularly the gap in between seemed a bit too long.
The room offers 5 different types of seating and categories from from VIP to Pullman. I would recommend the VIP where you will get great views of the show, premium service and menu. I do not do well with community tables, so the other options would not work for me.
A great selection of songs including my favorite from Tita Merello, a prominent Argentine film actress, tango dancer and singer. An interesting, I would call, classic Tango where the presence of the bandoneon is overtaken by violins, which felt a bit unusual in my experience, and I truly enjoyed. The best moment was the solo that one of the female performers does with an imaginary dancer, you will agree with me.

Among my tree favorite shows in Buenos Aires, I rank Tango Porteño the number two. Great option, lovely room, great dancers, good singers and a great gourmet experience. CM
