MIO Hotel Buenos Aires brand new Boutique option

MIO Hotel Buenos Aires brand new Boutique option  |  Buenos Aires, Argentina  |  Today I went for a site inspection at the recently opened MIO Hotel Buenos Aires. I was hosted in all style by GM Amalia Gonzalez, former Alvear Palace Hotel. The hotel by the trademark of Catena family, yes the same of Catena Zapata wines, combines boutique luxury, elegance and original design, with customized care. Walk through the stunning six meter-high door made of French oak from wine barrels, on the distinguished Quintana Avenue, at the heart of distinct Recoleta. I would have loved to stay overnight, but unfortunately the year has so many night, but I will on my next visit to Buenos Aires for sure, but below is the full comments on my site.

MIO Buenos Aires opened its doors six month ago, and in the search of excellence in services and operations, has already gone through the hands of three different General Managers, but seems to me that Amalaia is there to stay and the MIO Buenos Aires has found its perfect match with her long proven experience and contacts in sales for top luxury properties. The hotel still needs to mature and standardize the service and concept, but from what I have seen, they are on the right track and already guests are enjoying and raving about their style and personalized service.
We had breakfast at the main lobby, you can see above. Very net and minimalist design. I would have to say that the breakfast still needs improvement, from the presentation and some of the products they offer. I had a tea, and in my case I would have preferred a different selection, and being a boutique luxury hotel I would have used loose leaf tea, for example instead of tea bags. Again small details make the difference, and I know they are transitioning in that direction.
Fine materials such as calden wood, glass, cotton, oak, steel, marble and silk, all combine beautifully to create a unique aesthetic that stands apart in a tangible sensation of warmness and intimacy.
There are three main features that have called my attention and those are: the beautiful bathtubs created by Mario Dasso, a talented Argentinean whose art consists in engraving nature, made on Calden dead trees from the region of La Pampa. This are in almost all room and suites.
Second unique feature are the Champagne dispensers in every room, with complimentary champagne throughout your stay. I mean isn’t this just fabulous !!!!! Third and last feature is the Private Wet Saunas at each Suite as you can see in the video above.
Modest spa located on the 8th. floor, to serve the 30 rooms/suites of the hotel, with two treatment rooms, dry and wet sauna, a cardio room and a nice indoor pool to relax, and scape the world outside, an urban retreat for the body and soul.
