Carlos Melia LIVE from Koh Samet Island

Carlos Melia LIVE from Koh Samet Island  |  Koh Samet, Thailand  |  Escaping from all the craziness of Pattaya, which I must say although being a very much fun destination, it is not my type of idea of a relaxing time at the beach. So I did some research on my options around this area, and thanks to the recommendations of a few local friends and the concierge at the Siam Bayshore Hotel, I came up with two options Koh Samet and Koh Chan. Being Koh Samet the closest one to Pattaya, and THB 1200 after, I was on my way to this beautiful island in the Gulf of Thailand.
Beautiful island either to spend the day or stay overnight. Very quite, with lots of tourists visiting during the daytime, but you will almost have the island for yourself after 4PM when the ferry heads back to Ban Phen in mainland. The food is outstanding and very very local, specially if you enjoy fresh seafood and fish.
This is my enjoying some local Noodle Soup with shrimp, squid, octopus and some chili at one of the local stalls in Koh Samet. This fresh flavors, matched with the stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand, and a local Chang beer, just priceless. CM
