Hotel Check IN at Four Seasons Reserve Koh Samui | Laem Yai Bay, Koh Samui, Thailand | I am spending a brief but very comfortable and relaxing stay, signature of the style and personalized service of Four Seasons properties in Thailand, this time at the stunning Laem Yai Bay in Koh Samui. Four Seasons Resort, on the hills of the incredible Gulf of Siam. Surrounded by lush tropical forest and coconut palms boasting spectacular landscaping and views of the beach, sea and islands. Sixty spacious Thai villas with private infinity pools. I feel like the main room lacks a bit of personality, looking a bit too corporate for this environment, which it does not replicate in the bathrooms and the amazing private outdoor terraces. Located approximately 30 minutes away from the Koh Samui Airport. The perfect space to unwind and enjoy the world-class service and spirit of Four Seasons and the nature of Laem Yai Bay.
The design is by renown international architect Bill Bensley, and you can see his touch in most corners of the resort and the landscape. This morning I went to the fitness center, and not only it is very well equipped but the spectacular views of the Gulf of Siam, makes you workout so enjoyable, like if you were floating in the air. Also tried the Pla Pla Restaurant (many fish in Thai) right on the beach and close to the main pool and beach bar, and it was high standards and cuisine. Service was very professional and friendly. The photo below is the main lobby where you are greeted upon arrival, where the first words that will come out of you will be WOW. How can anything go wrong from this on. I will summarize my stay, by a phrase one of the staff told me yesterday while on the buckie from the beach to my villa, he said …” Mr Melia, if you are happy, we are happy…” and you truly feel the meant it. More to come. CM
Hotel Check IN is a new section, where I will be posting a short comment on the property I have just checked IN, with a video of the room and my first impressions on the hotel and the service. This will later be completed with a full review upon my departure. (photo above: front facade of the hotel and lobby). CM
