Dinning on a budget at Kalare Night Bazaar | Chiang Mai, Thailand | Walking by the Night Bazaar Market area in Chiang Mai, right outside the walls of the old city over Changklan Road, I got really really hungry and a crave for local street Thai food. Looking around me, the first thing I notice was a big sign saying Kalare Night Bazaar and Food Court, so with not a doubt I walked right straight into it. Guess how much I paid for the whole tray you see above (BTW yes I was very hungry ha ha ha…)
I toned down a full notch tonight, and decided to explore the night food stalls that I enjoy so much, not only for the food, but for all the happening around it. The full menu above, which took me less than ten minutes to devour, was in total 75 TBH (approx. USD 2,41). Yes you read right. Huge clear soup of vegetables and chicken, fried vegetables and steamed rice.
The system works with coupons that you buy at the main booth and from there you move freely among the dozen of stands around the central Thai performing area. So got over 100 TBH and I end up eating more things that I am not showing on this post, because it will make me feel guilty. This was my night eating out tonight and staying away from my luxury restaurants. Enjoy. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
