Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House

Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House  |  London, UK  |  So today I dedicated my afternoon to discover and wonder around a new area to me in London, the London Bridge and Borough Market. And by the local recommendation of a friend, I came to try the brilliant Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House. The small but perfectly formed dining room is made up of a long oyster bar and high tables. It is relaxed, informal and full of life. If you a fan of seafood and enjoy the informality of a traditional food market, give try to the Wright Brothers.
Their speciality is oysters and throughout the year they offer a wide range, sourced from the best producers around the British Isles and France. Grab a table on market days, sit back, enjoy a plate of oysters and a glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere of the thriving market – it is told to be one of the hottest spots in London. My choice for starter was the Hederman’s Organic Smoked Salmon (£12), and it was to die for.
They sell only fish and shellfish from sustainable stocks and source as much as possible from small Cornish day boats. They also source shellfish directly from their Duchy Oyster Farm on the Helford river in Cornwall, embracing our “farm to plate” philosophy. My choice for main course, were one of my favorite dishes, the Moules Mariniere (£12) just delicious. (aka. Moules = Mussels)
Food was very well matched with a White Sharphan 2009.  Sharpham Barrel Fermented is widely recognised as producing some of England’s most outstanding wines. Dry, oaked style wine, excellent with smoked fish.
For the grand finale at a very British style, a fantastic Fresh Mint Leafs Tea. Find out more about Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House. Afterwards I took a charming walk around the Borough Food Market. Thank you James for the lead and company. CM
