Patpong Night Bazaar

Patpong Night Bazaar  |  Bangkok, Thailand  |  The place is always busy and chaotic with all the commotion from from the street food stands,  fake copies of every luxury brand in the world, lady boys, GO-GO bars nearby and lots of foreign tourists. This market in Bangkok’s notorious nightlife district is often the first and easiest stop for many tourists just arriving to Bangkok.
I have arrived today to Bangkok, and since I am staying at The Sukhothai Hotel in Sathorn, and the sun was already setting, I decided to walk for only 10 minutes to the area of Silom, where the Patpong Night Bazaar is located in between and along Silom and Surawongse Roads. As a friend of mine told me today, do not stan still in Patpong’s streets too long, or they will make a fake copy of yourself. One of the world’s most famous red-light districts in the entire world, featuring their renown Lady Boys.
Patpong Night Bazaar is opened daily from 7PM t0 1AM. Enough time to explore the streets, bars, stands and bargain, bargain and bargain. Patpong for some might mean adult debauchery, but for others, is a traditional, and in so many ways, charming night market of Thailand. Moving along the night market is a whole experience, frequented by locals and many farangs ( the generic Thai word for a Westerner).  Patpong gets its name from the family that owns much of the area’s property, the Patpongpanich, immigrants from China, who purchased the area in 1946.
