The Marcel at Gramercy Hotel

The Marcel at Gramercy Hotel |  Gramercy Park, New York |  One of the six boutique options that the Amsterdam Hospitality group has to offer in New York City. Located on East 24th and 3rd Avenue, in the renowned Gramercy Park neighborhood, The Marcel at Gramercy Hotel is convenient to both the frenetic business culture of midtown and the trendy shops and bars of lower Manhattan.
Hotel Marcel introduces artistic details to the luxury New York hotel motif, with chic modern comforts that reflect the vibrant cultural influence of the city’s artists while giving a nod to the historic – but still-thriving – scene. I would call this option affordable luxury.

The Marcel at Gramercy 135 well appointed guestrooms offer beds with vibrant leather headboards, Frette linens and down comforters. In-room amenities include wireless internet with a surcharge of $11.95 per day, a 32” LCD flat screen television with cable channels, alarm clock with IPod docking station, work desk, safe, Mini-bar, iron/ironing board and hair dryer. Marble bathrooms with raindrop shower head and spa amenities by LATHER.
During my visit I was upgraded to a Suite (see video above). My only issues with this hotel are, (1).I am not a big fan of carpets specially in New York, but I have to admit that in this case they were on top conditions. But as I always say, this is a matter of taste. (2).The closets were almost inexistent, and unfortunately I like to travel with a lot of baggage, to always raise for the occasion.
A European breakfast buffet is available daily on the 10th floor guest lounge from 7:00am to 10:30am surcharge applies, with complimentary morning newspaper & coffee served 10am to 10pm. (photo above is the outdoor area of the lounge with amazing views of the Empire State Building and 3rd. Avenue). Inoteca, featuring classic Northern Italian cuisine with a modern flare and an extensive wine selection, is located next door and supplies The Marcel with the In-Room Dinning service. The restaurant and wine bar is located on their ground floor. Open daily from 5:00pm until 3:00am for Dinner. A European breakfast buffet is available daily on the 10th floor guest lounge from 7:00am to 10:30am surcharge applies, with complimentary morning newspaper & coffee served 10am to 10pm.
The Marcel at Gramercy provides guests with 24 hour Front Desk Staff, concierge services such as theatre ticket information, transportation arrangements, shuttle services, a state of the art guest lounge located on the 10th floor offering complimentary coffee and newspaper from 10:00am – 10:00pm with complimentary high-speed internet access on their kiosk systems. The hotel does not count with a fitness center facility, but discounted rates are available at The New York Sports Club located with in walking distance from the hotel.
POLAR is the official trendy bar of The Marcel Hotel, located at the basement of the property. Exposed brick sets off high-design banquettes, throw pillows, cocktail tables. Polar private rooms hold the major action: silver-bricked crypts reserved for VIPs. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator –
