Tacolicious SF | San Francisco, California | Craving for some excellent Mexican cuisine? Yes I said cuisine, because at Tacolicious San Francisco, they go over the TOP to redefine prejudice and create Gourmet Mexican Food. Not only you will find alternative tacos and enchiladas, but also a fantastic selection of Beer Drinks. Located over Chesnut Street, allows you to enjoy a lunch Al Fresco and later a nice stroll around this commercial hip area.
Tacolicious was born for the love of tacos. The slightly longer one: Tacolicious was born for the love of so much of Mexican food. If they had a battle cry, it would be “Fingers not forks!” Tacolicious isn’t a taqueria by any standards, but they encourage eating in the spirit of one. Their menu incorporates six different tacos, as well as seasonal salads, a Tombo tuna tostada and more. And while they’re very serious about supporting local farmers and natural meat purveyors, they’re not above a crock of warm and gooey, delicious chile con queso made with a dubiously shelf-stable cheese that starts with the letter V. Our choice for lunch was: Made-to-order Guacamole (USD 7.50), Enchiladas de pollo salsa ranchera, oaxaca and cotija cheese, cumin crema, avocado, cilantro (USD 7.95), Four Tacos platter (USD 12).
Purists can check out their extensive Mexican beer list and a selection of over50 tequilas (including a few mezcals). The party doesn’t get started until you’ve had a chupito, though. For these, inquire within. My choice was a Beer House Cocktail of Preperada tecate, tomato, chilies, lime, salt & pepper (USD 9). CM
