FINDS adds Norwegian flavour to Hong Kong | Kowloon, Hong Kong | If you are up for some Norwegian flavours while in Hong Kong, then Finds is the place to find it. Located in the island of Kowloon, at one of my favorite areas Tsim Sha Tsui on Kimberly Road, first floor of The Luxe Manor Hotel. FINDS stands for Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden. It is a distinctly Scandinavian haven in the bustling heart of Asia. It remains the only Nordic restaurant in the entire Pearl River Delta.
From award winning contemporary Northern European cuisine by celebrity chef Jaakko Sorsa to exciting “Molecular Mixology” cocktails, FINDS experiences are inspired by the five Nordic countries. They create brand-new experiences with familiar flavours, sights & smells. They call them contemporary classics. The focus is on quality – the finer things in life – that can only be quantified by how much value you put into them.
FINDS is a state of mind. It is an intriguing juxtaposition of East and West – a distinctly Scandinavian aesthetic designed with a contemporary Asian sensibility. Over time, FINDS has evolved to mean Food, Ideas, Nightlife, Drinks & Service that’s friendly. FINDS is a restaurant, bar & terrace. FINDS is a home. FINDS is a destination.
My choices for the night where SLOW-BAKED FILLET OF JOHN DORY Green Pea Puree, Potato Gratin, Red Chard (HK$248) and ‘DAIM’ PARFAIT Meringue, Almond, Caramel, Nougat, Inspired by Swedish ‘Daim’ Candy Bar (HK$78). For more information, bookings and directions check their website FINDS Hong Kong.
I want to thank my friend James Gannaban for hosting and introducing me to both FINDS and The Luxe Manor Hotel. James not only is the Group PR & Marketing Manager for FINDS but also the right person to know if you plan to experience the night of Hong Kong in full (Right after FINDS, he took me to AQUA, and that was quite over the top. Only someone like James can pull that out, at the last minute). James is also the local producer of Mr Gay World Hong Kong. Check his blog called James Gannaban Asia’s most hyperactive Gay Boy. Thank you James. (picture above is James with me and Noemi Alberto – MGW Director for Asia). Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
