Aux Trois Petits Cochons Restaurant ( Paris ) • once again another great local dinner spot recommended by Parisian friends. The place was packed as we walked in… and to my surprise the crowd was very friendly, not to say gay. I say to my surprise, since this options is out of the Le Marais district.
Amazing wine, french bed and once again… the magic of the french gourmet touch that makes everything taste like something you’ve never tried before. Since I arrived to Paris, I have been feeding myself on fish and cheese ha ha ha ( so soon I will turn into the fourth Cochon “pig” ). For some reason my friend here, was explaining me that chicken here in France is consider a bad quality of protein, and since I do not eat red meat salmon and fish in general is the only option left. Believe me I had chicken the other day at a restaurant over Rue Royale, close to the Madeleine and it was terrible, worst ever had. Now focusing back into this TOP restaurant selection my dinner came as follows, Starter: Tomato stuffed with goat’s cheese mousse, grilled bread with tapenade sauce, Main Dish: Medallions of anglerfish with fennel sauce, buttered leeks and mushrooms and Dessert: Selection of French cheeses, green salad. The wines were Lalande de Pomerol – 2004 – Château Belles-Graves and Médoc – 2000 – Château Livran.
Not fancy, not tourist oriented… simple and very Paris style over charming Rue Tiquetonne, ran and owned by Frédéric and Thierry. An interesting French oriented menu developed every day from a base of fresh produce. Their cuisine is presented in a menu of two formules which changes every week, depending on the availability of the season. For a first formule at 29 euros we offer a choice from five appetizers and five entres, or from five entres and five desserts. A second option at 35 euros allows you an appetizer, an entre and a dessert. Bookings recommended.
